I am currently gazing at this!
This truly feels like paradise!
75 degrees and climbing to 85!
But there’s trouble in paradise: last night’s waitress did not remember to abide by my 2-drink-per-day-max rule and kept filling my wine glass! Thus, I’m not my usual chipper self this morning. Feeling much better after breakfast though.
I had to crack into my emergency hangover treatment on the first night! Not off to a great start! I’ve been saving this Amazing Grass lemon/lime packet for ages. It just didn’t sound very good. And you know what? It wasn’t good! I drank about half the glass and dumped the rest. Yuck! Hopefully I got enough in me to do something magic to my hangover.
The real lifesaver was real food!
As I said yesterday, the breakfast here is super expensive and thank goodness we have a mini fridge – we had all the space to store some yogurts to make breakfast! Bowls, yogurt and bananas from Publix (breakfast for 3 for half the price of 1 here!) and granola, peanut butter (a tiny bit I brought in a tiny jar) and spoon from home. Really, even more than saving money, I just like to be able to eat breakfast (and blog!) when I wake up rather than waiting for everyone to get up and get dressed to go out. [FYI, Karen is still snoring!]
I found the new Chobani lemon at Publix last night – it was great!! Loved it. But then I tired a bite of Matt’s pineapple and realized that nothing trumps pineapple.
This coffee is called the Beachwater Blend!
Actually it wasn’t that bad
The conference begins at 7PM tonight with a welcome reception, so we’ve got all day today to play in the sun. First thing’s first: gotta get my toes in that sand!

Sorry you’re not feeling tip top! That lovely view will certainly aid in your recovery though!
I have to say, naming a coffee “beachwater blend” makes it sound really unappealing!
That certainly looks like paradise to me! Or at least, what I would want MY paradise to look like
I hope you have fun in the sun today! It’s going to be 78 in Charlotte, woo hoo! I can’t imagine being somewhere where it’s 85 degrees in Feb!
Quite jealous of your view considering the news I just watched called for some snow this week in our area! Hope you feel better-enjoy your time in the sun
I so wish I could go dip my feet in the ocean!!! Also, I love how prepared you are. I am definitely taking advantage of nearby grocery stores and a snack bag from home next time I travel. Thanks!
I stayed at that same hotel a few years ago for a conference and LOVED it! I’m so jealous you’re down there enjoying the beach! Have a great time
That place looks wonderful!
I had that same exact breakfast this morning too! I love big yogurt messes
Have a fun day!!
Warming your toes in the sand with definitely get you feeling better
Some salt air, relaxation, and sun are just what you need!
I just got back from Florida on Friday and I am SO JEALOUS that you are there now! I want to be back in the sun and playing with the palm trees! Have a great time!
How gorgeous!! And try the mango chobani. It just MAY trump the pineapple. They are both my faves now. Just imagine the two together!
Have fun!!!
Perfect day for the beach!
I am SO JEALOUS!!!! I would give anything to be with sun and sea and sand right now!
Yep I tried that flavour drink as well, and threw it – it was FOUL. The chocolate one is much nicer
Hope you feel better soon!
I so wish I was there right now…
Wow – what does the hotel serve? Golden bacon and eggs for that price I hope!
Do you write and eat at the same time – or do you try to just eat when you eat and be more “conscious”? I always am multi-tasking and know it’s not good.
FL looks amazing!
I wish that was my view this morning!
I found the lemon chobani for the first time yesterday. I bought the last two containers of it. I haven’t had a chance to try it yet. I guess I probably should have eaten than instead of cake for breakfast. OOps.
Enjoy putting your toes in the sand, already had the toes of my boots in the snow!
Have you tried Chobani Mango? It might beat pineapple for me!
i want to go to there
Ahhhhh, SO jealous!!! I’ll be in Key West myself in a week– the beach vacation can’t come soon enough!!
Ohhh your view looks absolutely *divine*!!!
And yes, you are quite right… nothing trumps the pineapple chobani!!
have fun! I’m so jealous by the way…you have great weather and peanut butter and it’s cold and grey here and my flatmade smashed my peanut butter jar first thing in the morning and there was glass in my glorious beloved peanut butter… it sucks! but I’m smiling anyway
I’m from Europe, but I’ve been to Marco Island a few times when I was younger. It used to be so not-touristy and gorgeous. A few years ago I went back and still liked it, but the prices are insane now! I LOVED going to the “snook inn” and it’s still a nice place, overpriced though. But you will be seeing dolphins there and that’s gorgeous…great memories!
Have fun there!
SO. JEALOUS.
Looks fabulous!! I’m so jealous!
Do you not worry about revealing to the world that your house is currently empty though??
I do worry about it, but I don’t really have a choice? Clearly I’m not at home. Hopefully no one knows where we live, but we also have a house sitter and alarm for extra security.
This is hard to read as I look at the window and see the snow falling again. Have a lovely trip! I will live vicariously through your sunbathing.
If only I had sunshine and warmth up here!! You are in paradise, girlie girl, enjoy it for the rest of us and we will all imagine that we are having lots of sunshine on us:)
Have the BEST time! What a change from your last business trip, right?
Totally jealous of that weather … can’t wait for spring/summer!!
It looks gorgeous, Kath! Enjoy your day with your toes in the sand!
Great view, it’s almost like your in Mexico.
Are you at the Marriott in Marco Island?!?! If so, I am SO, SO, SO JEALOUS. I’ve been several times and it truly is heaven on earth! Have fun!
I LOVE the lemon lime flavor. Next time we should trade packets! It’s best in a smoothie with strawberries…like strawberry lemonade! Have fun in the sun dear Kath.
What a fun day you have ahead of you! I’m so jealous!
Looks GORGEOUS!!
I tried the New Lemon Cho… Didn’t like it AT ALL! It was a texture thing–> SO ‘gritty’! But the New Cherry flavor is my all time favorite, Pineapple is a close second! Hope y’all have a BLAST!
What a beautiful view! I am a beach hater, but even I am a little jealous of your view when I look out my window at the Oregon gloominess today!
hi from FL!!!! too bad we’re not in the same city.
just went running outside — i think we were rocking a 10:30 pace! it’s currently 79 and my body is so not acclimated. but at least it was super FLAT (and tropical + gorgeous).
ps: just googled it, and you are in the exact same latitude as we are, just on the west coast of FL instead of the east!
Kath omg Marco Island is my family’s get away! That place is so near and dear to me, I have been going there since I was born! It is one of the most beautiful places in the US and the weather is always amazing! Make sure you go to Joey’s for pizza- and get the calamari- Joey’s way. And the stuffed artichokes if they have them on special. Wow I’m so jealous, even tho I was just there in January! Have the best time ever! If you want to see dolphins, go to Snooks Inn for happy hour one day. They also have a great salad bar and grouper sandwich. Lemme know if you need any other recommendations while out there!
I don’t think we’ll get to have any meals out since the conference starts tonight. But we’re enjoying the beaches!
What a beautiful view. I’m jealous!!
February is normally a warm month here, but I woke up to ice on my car today! I wouldn’t mind it being 85 here
oh my lord! JEALOUS
So awesome that you get some time to play while you’re down there. B-fast looks stupendous. Hope you feel better before you get into the sunshine. :-p
I can’t drink Amazing Grass straight like that! Mixed into a smoothie I can’t taste it at all
Nothing beats pineapple Chobani, but I wish I could find the new flavors! The black cherry especially sounds amazing.
What I wouldn’t give to be in Florida right now! It is currently raining and cold in the good ol’ UK!
I am so very jealous of your view right now!
Crazy enough, I bought my first Chobani this past week and it’s the pineapple one! I can’t wait to try it after hearing so much about it!
That view looks heavenly!
I’m impressed you can eat yogurt on a hangover. Dairy es no bueno for me the next morning. Banana and PB are my go-to.
Totally agree on the pineapple Chobani – I thought it sounded terrible, but after trying it I am HOOKED!
The beach looks gorgeous…so jealous, Chicago winter is still in full swing!
That truly looks like paradise! I’m so envious:) Enjoy your conference!
Oh my gosh, I would love to make those photos my desktop background!! The beach looks so beautiful. Enjoy that sand and soak up the sun!
Beatiful! I like the lemon flavor too but your right, nothing beats the pineapple
That view is gorgeous! The amazing grass, however, looks pretty gross.
Enjoy Florida!
Days like this I remind myself how lucky I am to be in FL with a water view out my front window. I need to keep reminding myself June-October too when I’m hating the heat.
Your view is beautiful! Enjoy the sand and sun
Where you are staying looks beautiful – and warm. Amazing grass has also been a go-to hangover remedy of mine. Glad you’re feeling better and ready to face the day!
I. Am. So. Jealous! It’s 20 degrees right now. And I’m white as a ghost and relying on vitamin D supplements due to the lack of sun…haha.
Have fun and send some sunshine and warmth to New England!
That’s why I don’t drink much anymore, I can’t stand the way I feel the next day! Sometimes I get a hangover before I even go to bed. I stick to nonalcoholic now, lol.
Ahhhh SO jealous of you!
Your pictures make a compelling argument for me to move south.
What a view! I hope you have a relaxing Sunday before the conference starts!
It looks so beautiful there! I bet you’re going to have a blast this weekend.
I like to make my own cereal and yogurt messes for breakfast when I’m on trips too. It’s usually so much tastier than the breakfast offered at hotels!
Oh I’m jealous! That looks amazing!
I am looking out my kitchen window in Chicago at the recent additional snow to go with the snow we already had and I am having some envy. Have a great time!!
a little envious of the view, i think, as i gaze out the window at a sub-zero winter scene.
Wow, the beach looks beautiful! I am so jealous but at the same time I am living vicariously through you when really, it is snowing big time in Minnesota and I am at the library studying. I’m glad at least someone is enjoying life!
Enjoy having fun in the sand! The beach looks beautiful!
I’m 100% convinced a glass of emergen-C is THE hangover cure!!!
Looks gorgeous! I’ve heard the new mango Chobani is delicious too. Have fun!
Sounds like such a blast!! Have fun today!
that last pic….breathtaking! and i live in san diego so the ocean is here, but still, that ocean/beach shot is sucking me right in
Fridges are a lifesaver when traveling on a budget! I was so ecstatic about how common hotel fridges are in America – sadly they’re quite rare in Australia!
Kath, next time you have too much to drink and are h/o in the morning, try coconut water! It’s all the rage now but it truly helps the dehydration problem. I highly recommend! Have a great time in Marco Island.
I looked for it in Publix and couldn’t find any!
Awesome that you found one of the new CHO flavors – the lemon is so good! Pineapple totally has my heart too though
Looks like you guys are having some absolutely gorgeous weather on your trip, enjoy!
That is a gorgeous view, but I’m more interested in the pictures of your breakfast!! I guess I’m a little hungry?
Agreed! Pineapple Chobani is the BEST! Will keep an eye out for the lemon!
That sun and sand looks like a perfect hangover cure to me!
