All night long there were no sugarplums in my head. Only these oats.
Last night:
- 1/4 cup oats (less because I knew I’d add a lot of granola)
- 1/2 cup greek yogurt
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tbsp chia
- Sprinkle salt
- Sprinkle vanilla
This AM:
- 1/3 cup homemade Maple Walnut Granola
- Handful blueberries
- Half small banana
- 1 tbsp TJs PB!!
I think the peanut butter made it. I have missed regular old salty, crunchy PB!
Alarm clock:
Speaking of alarm clocks, Matt was up and ready for work at 6:30. I stayed up too late playing with my phone (found even MORE awesome features!!!). I’m totally sleep deprived
Might need a nap today!
Thinking about going to 9:15 vinyasa yoga. Can’t believe I live so close to the studio. Makes it so easy to decide!
See y’all later!

Definetly do the yoga, I vote!! If I lived near a yoga studio, I’d move house and just live AT the yoga studio
Have a good day!
i have been craving peanut butter lately too…salty, creamy, crunchy, buttery love
I hope you go to yoga and have a blast!
I wish I lived close to a yoga studio. I am at least 25 minutes away!
I would LOVE to live that close to a studio!
Now that song is going to be stuck in my head all day…”All night long (all night…all night)…all night long” lol…at least it’s not repetitive.
I wish, I wish, I wish it would cool off this week so I could fire up my oven to make yer granola! Until then, I’m working on inventing a machine that fans me with palm fronds, feeds me iced coconut water and bakes granola.
I dug into some regular PB this weekend too…I love all my crazy flavors, but the classic remains the best!!
Did you get the brand new iPhone?! If so, PB has it too. Did you know there is a REMOTE application where you can use your phone as a remote for any Apple product? We listened to music all afternoon and changed the songs by using the phone. It was incredible!
If it is not an iPhone, please ignore this comment
I am just getting back into life from my trip!
I am such a little punk. Just saw that DIRECTLY below this post you talked about your phone purchase! WHOOPS and sorry! PB had a tough time deciding between the two phones and went for the iPhone instead of the Google phone. I am curious to see how you like yours over time compared to how he likes his new Apple phone!
Your oatmeal looks delish as usual! I’m going to have to try making granola soon.
PS. Love that mug, it’s gorgeous!
great breakfast to start the day with!
Love crunchy, salted peanut butter! I recently switched back to the crunchy – so good.
Maybe you’ll have time for a nap today
Hope yoga is fun and relaxing!
Sometimes you just can’t beat the old fashioned peanut butter!
I can’t decided! Oatmeal or smoothie for breakfast today? You’re swaying me to oatmeal, haha.
Peanut butter just MAKES a breakfast bowl. It’s absence was very much noted on my cereal this morning
Your overnight oats look delicious! I cannot wait to try your simple but terrific sounding granola.
Btw have you ever tried Almond Dream brand almond milk? I had a coupon and picked it up yesterday with the intention of trying it out in cherry-vanilla overnight oats. The mix was quite tasty, but I felt that the milk was a little bit chalky. I have enjoyed Blue Diamond Almond Breeze in the past, and I feel it’s a better buy. Oh well. I hope you and Matt both have a great day! Take that nap if you need it.
I haven’t tried that milk, but I”m not a big fan of almond milk. There’s no protein so it’s like water. Good for smoothies when you want to keep it lite, but not much else.
I actually told my sister the same thing about almond milk the other day. However, I do like that for a low amount of calories, and I can bulk up my smoothies, OIAJ, overnight oats, soups, etc. while also adding in some nutrients. To be honest I wanted to use the coupon for a purchase of unsweetened original Soy Dream, but there was none to be found. :/ Oh well. Thanks for your reply, Kath!
That looks like a great way to start the day!
New technology is so fun, but so addictive. I still cannot detach myself from my laptop. Have a great day, Kath.
Mm, I love nut butter in my oats.
Overnight oats are the best.
I am also sleep deprived, but I dunno why. I’m having sleep problems recently
Enjoy yoga – what a great way to start the week!!
I LOVE your coffee mug! Have fun at yoga! You’re so lucky to have a studio so close to you!
Yummy way to start the day! The bonus to staying up late now…you can take a nap if ya want to! Enjoy your day Kath!
So what made you do HTC over iPhone? Google? Just curious because I am loving my iPhone 4!
Tasty oats! Homemade granola is the best
Have a great day!
New toys are fun to play with aren’t they
I love when I dream of food and it comes out exactly as anticipated
I have just finished a jar of crunchy PB and it was amazing – sometimes simple is best! Although I am totally envious of the amount of flavoured nut butters you guys have in the US! Brekfast looks super tasty and nice and cold for this hot weather. Hope you enjoy your yoga sesh!!
I keep seeing all of these overnight oats and I think I need to make them soon! Yours looked delicious as did your homemade granola. I love that you posted the recipe in your last post becaus I always thought granola would be complicated to make and I was happy to see that it wasn’t
Enjoy the rest of your day!
Living close to the gym or the studio helps in making the decision to go. Especially up here in the winters when it is snowing and the wind is howling.
I hate it when I get so wrapped up in technology that I lose sleep.
I say a nap is totally in order
Love the appearance of the new granola AND good ole’ PB
Enjoy your day and hope you decide to go to yoga! It might make you feel a little less sleepy
AHhhh so many good things in this post! I haven’t had O.Oats in TOO long, will be making them STAT!
And thanks for the granola recipe- I have been looking for a good one for so long. I will def. try yours out…looks great!
Have a great Monday Kath!
Do the yoga! It’ll wake you up.
Your granola looks fab.
That granola looks heavenly!
whenever i get a new phone i’m up too late playing with it too. i become obsessed!!!
Salted PB is the way to go!!!! If I ever buy unsalted, I always add a touch of salt. Its necessary
hey kath. i wanted to tell you that i just moved cross country (nc to ca) and we used PODS and it was a total success – not one broken item! i think i remember that you all are using them right now until you settle in charlottesville. just wanted to share! happy yoga this morning if you go.
Oh yay!
I am now singing Lionel Ritchie and picturing this commercial http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kCdYnAYyU7w.
Hi! I was curious where you buy your Chia seeds from? Can I find them in a supermarket or health food store? Thanks!
Open Sky
Your breakfast looks amazing! I like the lightly salted peanut butter, too. Makes the flavors stand out more.
I had overnight oats yesterday. SO good — and filling!
Jenn
Ahhhhh those oats look fantastic. I’m all about the toppings – and homemade granola? Yes PLEASE!!
Looks like the granola turned out perfect.
I’ve never tried your over night oats and want to give it a try. What kind of oat do you like the best? TIA!
That looks o-mazing! Maple granola and peanut butter drizzling through… heaven!
Your oats look amazin’ as always! Check out our Banana Cheesecake Oats from this morning!
