You’re Not In May Anymore, Toto

STILL haven’t had a good night’s sleep!! Huge thunderstorm came through at 3AM that had me wide away and scared (Matt was already gone!) And in the middle of trying to get back to sleep I remembered my Organic Valley Plain Yogurt Drink expired in June and needed to be opened for breakfast.

Well I was wrong – it was to be consumed in MAY! And it’s not May anymore! But yogurt use-by dates are pretty flexible, so I cracked it open and enjoyed…

IMG_4033 (640x427)

IMG_4046 (640x427)

The Mix

  • 1 cup Organic Valley Plain Yogurt drink (Like plain yogurt whipped and frothed to a light thinness)
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1/4 cup Bob’s Red Mill Muesli
  • Handfuls of blueberries and organic strawberries (<– for you Ashley!)
  • Handful of Kashi Cinnamon Great Harvest biscuits
  • Drizzle maple syrup

IMG_4041 (640x427)

IMG_4031 (640x427)

Tea time. Hoping this caffeine is enough!

IMG_4043 (640x427)

IMG_4044 (640x427)

Don your umbrella – you don’t want to MELT out there!

I’m so miserable about not being in May. It’s now Winter in Australia, which means that in the past three years I’ve only had one proper summer because of traveling… Ah well, more excuses to make your chia hot oats! 😀

I always wondered about yogurt expiration dates. I have a couple I need to use ASAP so I’ll be sure to just use it as a guideline!

I’m never sure if it’s a sell by or use by date!

I haven’t been able to sleep lately either. I don’t know if it is hormones, the moon, too much other stuff to think about. I hate it when that happens! I lay awake thinking about things like the expiration date on foods too. We are dropping our kids off with their grandparents today before we head to Charlotte for work later this week and I laid there thinking about what to pack in the car for lunch. Seriously…sometimes I think I am a little too OCD when it comes to planning things. Anyway, I hope you have a great day! Happy June 1!

Though I ususally buy the conventional versions of all other berries, I ALWAYS buy organic strawberries. They are on the dirty dozen (on average 300 TONS of pesticides are applied to an acre of strawberries), plus I think they taste way better. I can actually taste the chemicals on conventional strawberries (apples and grapes too).

I’m so glad that I’m not the only one. I love the song SO MUCH that I actually logged onto iTunes DURING the performance on the show and downloaded it. That, and Bad Romance, has been on CONSTANT ROTATION ever since. We’re talking about listening to it at work, at home, in the car, working out, etc. <3 Glee! Lea and Idina are two of my FAVORITE theater performers. and Santana KILLED it during Bad Romance.

I'm already obsessed with Glee and Lady GaGa each in their own right. Glee + GaGa = <3

That’s terrible you are having sleep issues!
Do you know what the cause is?
I have had sleep issues for the greater part of 10 years- sometimes better than other times but never, ever a solid sleep. I believe it’s because I just don’t know how to turn my mind off and it is just habit now because I do a lot of other things right: exercise daily, no late night eating, no late night caffeine, bedroom only for sleep and so on and so forth…
I hope your sleeping gets better!
