You Put The Lime In The Coconut…

Foodblog-2689

I need to stop searching for “Boppy Covers” on Etsy and get to work! Babies are expensive enough, and then you have to throw Etsy in the mix. I was searching for cute crib sheets one day and found one – didn’t even look at the price – and sent it to Caitlin. She said “Kath, you CANNOT pay $50 for a custom crib sheet!” She is right – but it’s sooo tempting!

Foodblog-2697

Delicious breakfast mix today thanks to Alex’s newly created Caramel Apple Muffin!! It’s 50% whole grain (they are also testing a 100% whole grain version) and was everything gooey and cinnamony about fall!

Foodblog-2700

I filled up my bowl with plain yogurt (off greek and back on WF Organic Low Fat for a week – I love to mix it up!) plus about 1/3 of the muffin, crumbled, berries, chia seeds, a sprinkle of raw oats, almond butter and coconut. No lime – that’s in the décor :  )

Foodblog-2692

I am also surprisingly into milk in my iced coffee. It seems to really bring out the flavors in the Shenandoah Joe’s Mexican Decaf more than other brands.

Foodblog-

Lime tea towel is also from Etsy : ) Oh Little Rabbit’s store!

Foodblog-2688

In just a few hours I am heading south to NC for a hometown baby shower tomorrow!! Excitement!

Baby stuff is so cute! Especially all the clothes….I can definitely see how it could be easy to get carried away! But they grow so fast so you’re probably better with used/hand me down stuff 🙂

OMG caramel apple muffins?!? Yes please! That’s hilarious about Etsy and the $50 cover. I understand how tempting it must be though. For human beings so small, how can they be so expensive?!? My favourite piece of baby clothing is shoes… I don’t know why, but they are just so cute! (Maybe it’s because my feet are so ridiculously enormous!)

Ha! There are two Boppy covers I’d love to have on Etsy, but they’re $25 a piece! Last night I actually tried my hand at making my own cover- I just need to figure out how to attach the zipper. It’s not perfect, but a pretty good first attempt. I just don’t want the standard (read: boring) covers.

Well, the really good things about newborns is they really don’t NEED very many things to be happy 🙂 Really just you guys, your breasts, a diaper (and I’d argue that they would probably be happier without one LOL) and a roof over their heads.

    Have a great baby shower!!

What do you do with your leftover muffin if you don’t eat the whole thing? Do you leave it at room temp. or stick it in the fridge? I only ask because I made some muffins the other day and they went moldy after sitting at room temp. for 2 days! I was SO mad! I have that problem with muffins every time I make them. But putting them in the fridge changes the texture for me 🙁 Suggestions!?

Etsy is addictive. I’ve known about it for a while, but didn’t really get into it and make an account until this past fall. And now I’m pretty sure every gift I buy for people for the rest of my life will come from Etsy. It’s just too good.

Thing is, about that crib sheet, you might end up co-sleeping! We had the most beautiful Pottery Barn crib set up and a gorgeous nursery. We chose love (and cosleeping) over beauty and moved little one into our room. We are so glad we did. Things change when you get that babe in your arms. Just to warn you. We lost so much money though on that darn crib. Someone got it as a steal on craigslist!
