You Can Do That On Television

IMG_4953Blog

Morning!

IMG_4951Blog

Yesterday’s bowl of cottage cheese blueberry oats were SO GOOD that I had to have the combo a second day in a row. This time with a teaspoon of Cookie Butter instead of almond.

IMG_4950Blog

Cottage cheese not only gives the oats a subtle cheesy flavor (think cheese danish) but they come out sooo creamy too.

IMG_4952Blog

No beverage today so I could focus on the oats.

TV Round UP –

I am now caught up on The Office (pretty good episode), 30 Rock (so-so), Gossip Girl (not what I was expecting – a little bit of a let down) and Glee (EXCELLENT music this week!).

I also watch Selling New York and Selling LA every week. Along with every House Hunters that I haven’t seen. Sounds like a lot huh! But there are so many shows I don’t watch.

I’d love to get back into Survivor (when does a new season start?) and I’ve never seen an episode of LOST but my friend Hilary is going to help me remedy that!

And I can hardly wait for So You Think You Can Dance!

Use cottage cheese instead of yogurt, but otherwise keep same equal proportions and mix in cottage cheese in the morning, not the prior night?

Steve, This was stove-top whipped banana oatmeal, not overnight soaked oats. I stirred the cottage cheese into the hot oats a minute before they were done. But you could definitely sub out the yogurt for CC in overnight oats as well

Great looking oats. Funny you mentioned Lost. I was just thinking yesterday, that Lost was the most frustratinging ending show, and if I ever saw it on in reruns, I would NEVER watch it again. I was watching reruns of Vampire Diaries on Netflix, and when I found myself so happy to be watching it again, it reminded me of how I used to love and then hated Lost. Good Luck!

I actually agree with you, but I still love Lost! Seasons 1 and 2 are SO GOOD and then it’s like they out-lived their expectations and had to make up a lot of filler to keep going for seasons 3, 4 and 5. I still loved seeing how it wrapped up, though! My dad and I had ongoing theories about it, so it was neat to get some answers!

Love the addition of cottage cheese or Greek yogurt to oats- it gives it such an irresistible thick and creamy consistency! I usually don’t add it till the end though, as a topping, with some crunchies like cereal… Wonder if it gives it any different taste versus cooking it directly into the oats?!

I’ve never gotten into The Office and seem to be watching a lot of trashy reality TV lately- The Real Housewives, The Bachelor… Although, I recently started watching Modern Family [got it on Nextflix] and think it’s hilarious!

I’m halfway through the final season, and I kind of couldn’t care less! I’d definitely recommend it based on the first seasons, but unless you like convoluted story lines, prepare to be a little let down in the end. Maybe I am speaking WAY too soon and the finale will blow me out of the water?

He just doesn’t understand the foodie world! Well, this semester both of us had to start blogs for classes we are in, and when I working on my post last night, I said that it was a little long, but I thought it would work. He turned and said, “You know, whenever I write a blog, I just think to myself WWKD?” I couldn’t figure out what he meant, but burst out laughing when I realized he was saying “What would Kath do?” haha

LOST is amazing! I know some people stopped watching after the first couple seasons but I think the entire series is briliant. I have to say that I’m glad I was watching it while it was on television because the wait between each episode, reading blogs and listening to podcasts was something that made it even better and made us feel like we were part of something.

How do you have time to watch all these shows?! Seems like you have so many jobs, projects, and friend/husband fun on the books — I need to learn your tricks to find more hours in the day!

Ok — love House Hunters, Selling NY, Parenthood, Glee, Pan Am, Big Bang Theory, The Chew, Dr. Oz, and CBS Sunday Morning. I DVR everything except HH & Selling NY and whiz through the commercials and watch when I have the time.

I loved the music on Glee this week too! Especially “Summer Nights”!

You’re going to get SO hooked on LOST. My friend made me watch the first episode with her and we ended up watching 5 seasons in one summer!

I agree – Glee was great on Tuesday!! I honestly haven’t been very impressed so far this entire season, so I was so relieved for a great episode!

So You Think You Can Dance is my favorite! Finding more and more in common with you through this blog!! I’d love to hear about how you got into the creation of a food blog because I am a college student and aspiring editor and would love to start a healthy food on a college budget-type blog!!!

I tried this out and it didn’t work…my oats weren’t creamy and delicious but I think I burned the cottage cheese. Whoops! Oats take care and attention!
