Wooded Acres

Busy morning, relaxing afternoon. I was going to work on a few business things – until Faith emailed to see if I wanted to walk on the Monticello Trail.

Change of plans!

Monticell

It was GORGEOUS outside and I needed to get out there. Working now instead!

We walked straight up to Monticello’s visitor’s center and back. Love Faith!

Monticello

After I got home, I whizzed to the grocery store to pick up a bunch of veggies for the week. Overflowing basket means that my backpack will be filled to the brim!

Veggies

I was right – the arugula didn’t fit!

Arugula

I also found this amazing Sweet Potato Pie candle at the market – it’s locally made, in an awesome reusable jar, burn-clear wax and smells amazing for $8! Can’t wait to come home with the Gingerbread next!

IMG_9137Blog

Matt and I celebrated the close of Tuesday business with a Flying Dog beer tasting – thanks to my KERF friends for the gift!

IMG_9143Blog

The Imperial Pumpkin was good, but a little too much on the porter side for me, but the Barleywine was outstanding!!!!!

IMG_9147Blog

Dinner tonight was simple – the last of our OSG Pumpkin Bean Cornbread Casserole and green beans sauteed in olive oil, Garlic Gold, lemon juice and candied pecans

IMG_9145Blog

The cornbread was by far the best part of this casserole – the beans had dried out and lost their flavor a bit. Still great though, and some of the best cornbread ever!!

IMG_9144Blog

Had a piece of dark chocolate afterwards, and ‘bout to settle on the couch for our nightly TV entertainment. Since having a house with a cozy basement family room and a legitimate comfortable couch, we’ve turned into total TV freaks! Can’t decide of this is good or bad..

I’m so glad you’re in a place where you can walk again!! As a walk-lover myself I can completely appreciate how great that is 🙂

And yeah – we’ve turned into total TV freaks too! Let me know if you’ve decided whether or not it’s good or bad because I’m still trying to decide too 😉

It’s always so good to get outdoors on a beautiful day – totally lifts the spirits.

I’ve never tried pumpkin beer, I’ve never seen it in New Zealand!! Maybe I just haven’t looked hard enough. It sounds so good!

Hey if it makes you happy and you look forward to the routine I say its a good thing! I’ve really grown out of the tv habit because my roommates and I are too cheap to buy cable.. and I’ve loved getting in other forms of entertainment.

I almost bought some of that beer this weekend. Will need to go back and pick some up. Gives me a good reason to go back to Tom’s Farm.

Love the candle. I bet they will both smell wonderfully! And how did you end up wheeling the arugula home?

    BTW, love the scenic photos!

Fall food-scented candles are by far the best of any candles. Whenever I go shopping back home, I almost always stop in Yankee Candle–not to buy anything, but to just smell the candles! Last year they had one called “Be Grateful” that smelled like fall treats, and my mom bought it for me as a stocking stuffer for Christmas. Mmm mm good!

We have one scheduled night for TV watching and couch lounging at my house with my husband…Wednesday nights because we love to watch Modern Family and that’s the day we use to catch up on the rest of our TV shows too.

A very comfy couch is very dangerous to have.
