Welcome Home

Matt made it safely to Napa. He is feeling better and wanted me to show you all his veggie sandwich that he managed to eat when he arrived. I’ll be featuring some more of his trip throughout the week 🙂

photo (2)

I set out on my adventure this afternoon and did bad, bad things. Like spend $100 on new workout clothes at Target. I went in for one thing and came out with 2 cute pairs of fitted workout pants (one cropped, one long – if you’re petite these rock!) and two new yoga tops (mine were all a bit to cleavage-y!). In my defense, I really did NEED these!

IMG_6989 (640x427) IMG_6992 (640x427) IMG_6990 (640x427)

I also went to Fresh Market and found SPRING BLEND! I got a Caf and a Decaf.

IMG_6994 (640x427)

Yesterday when I was kicked out of the house I piled my things into this new tote I was sent: EnviTote. It’s a reusable box! With a very convenient shoulder strap. And it’s washable. When you don’t want things (like bread) to get smooshed, sometimes a reusable bag just won’t cut it. This guy was SO convenient!! I added it to my Open Sky store immediately!

IMG_6863 (640x427)

Just when I was heading back home I got a message from Kelsey asking me to meet her for a drink. Good timing!!

I was just going to order water….until I looked at the wine list and remembered that my husband was in wine country without me. So I got a 2 oz "taste" portion of a delightful moscato!

photo (1)

And was starving so I broke into a purse-stash of pistachios!

Photo

Still starving when I got home (10 miler eh?) so I snacked on a few more almonds as I packed my lunch and prepped dinner.

IMG_7013 (640x427)

Karen is back from New Zealand! She came over to join me for dinner and will be spending a few nights (keeping me safe!) while Matt’s gone.

I made us a nice American dinner of omelets with Organic Valley cheese, North Carolina kale and Montana wheat Great Harvest bread.

IMG_7031 (640x427)

IMG_7025 (640x427)

More Eggland’s Best from the Foodbuzz Tastemaker program!

IMG_7018 (427x640)

Seriously, this Organic Valley cheese has so much flavor.

IMG_7017 (427x640)

Chef’s mocktail

IMG_7020 (640x427)

Sometimes butter is just necessary.

IMG_7021 (640x427)

IMG_7026 (640x427)

IMG_7029 (640x427)

Our omelets had shrooms, pimentos and shredded mild cheddar + pepperjack cheese

IMG_7033 (640x427)

Kale was lightly dressed in a drizzle of olive oil and lemon juice

IMG_7036 (640x427)

Toast was toast in 5 minutes flat

IMG_7034 (640x427)

IMG_7028 (640x427)

IMG_7027 (640x427)

Karen brought me back some beautiful  gloves made from possum and sheep’s wool. Love that they say "Lothlorian" like LOTR and are a nice Elven green!

Ever pooped during a run??

***

Going to snuggle in my bed with fresh sheets and a new Nicolas Sparks book! (The Last Song).

Nite nite.

Good tip on the workout pants for shorties! I have been looking for some. What material are they? I really prefer the moisture wicking fabric like the Nike Dri-fit pants, because a regularly cotton/poly blend shows all the sweat but I only have them in capris and my ankles get cold in the winter !!! 🙂

Thanks for that poop article … LOL! It is something that runners have to think about! I run on my treadmill at home, so it’s not a huge issue, but now that the weather is getting nicer, I know I’ll be outside for double digit runs in no time. It’s already something I’m thinking about!
