Weeknight Whispers

If only all weeknights could be this awesome!!

IMG_1884Blog

Pizza. Beer. Husband.

I biked home from the bakery and we opened the Southern Tier Back Burner Barleywine!

IMG_1871Blog

It was a bit hoppier than I like for barleywines, but I still loved it.

IMG_1873Blog-2

So for dinner we made THIS from Honey Whole Wheat dough!! By the way, Great Harvest makes AMAZING dough!!

PizzaaaaBlog

The base was Karen’s sun-dried tomato pesto, plus tomatoes, hunks of cheese and basil. YUM!

IMG_1900Blog

On the side – greens! Of course. Gotta use ‘em up! We sautéed collards and mustard greens from the garden with mushrooms in a nice sesame sauce

IMG_1889Blog-2

This sauce was a gift from Dani who visited the bakery from Vermont. It was awesome! Loved the touch of molasses!

IMG_1875Blog

Of course, one more brew completed dinner

IMG_1892Blog

The Arrogant Bastard. Matt acted the beer character out

ABbeerBlog

So delicious. I could have eaten 10 more slices of pizza, but I stuck to two.

IMG_1901Blog-2

As Matt headed up to bed, I had a taste of the Ben & Jerry’s that I found in our freezer. I had no idea it was in there – I think Karen left it one night!?

4 bites of rich cream and I was in heaven.

IMG_1902Blog

Time for a little SYTYCD!! Then hopefully finishing my book.

This pizza looks absolutely AMAZING!!! The dough, the vegetable, the cheese… wowzers! My BF and I talk all the time about the pizza we want to make once we have a grill. We love making pizzas in the oven, but we just can’t wait to grill pizzas.

My favorite Ben and Jerry’s flavor was called “vermonty python”. It was coffee liqueur ice cream with a cookie crumble and chocolate cows (I think). It was amazing!!!

I’m not too much of a Ben & Jerry’s fan since most of the time the ingredient list is so darn long, but Kevin loves the “Americone Dream” flavor. I like sticking with froyo. 🙂
