Weekend & Beyond

Foodblog (2 of 28)

^^Sweetness!!

How was your weekend? Mine went by so fast that I forgot to write this post on Sunday night so I’m squeezing this post in before getting started on our day!

Foodblog (1 of 28)

Friday night was low key. Matt went out with friends and I watched 2 episodes of Nashville and 2 episodes of Blood & Oil on the couch. It was lovely! Drank lots of hot tea.

I had this sweet potato and turkey chili for dinner – a Cook Smarts crock pot recipe!

Foodblog (7 of 28) this !

Saturday morning Mazen and I had smoothies! Blueberry – spinach – banana – oats – milk – yogurt.

Foodblog (5 of 28) Foodblog (6 of 28)

And then we went to Pen Park to play a little soccer together! M enjoyed the snack break more than the soccer itself.

Foodblog (12 of 28)

We also found this guy lurking on my backpack!

Foodblog (11 of 28)

Saturday lunch was leftovers from Roots plus leftover salmon on top

Foodblog (4 of 28)

I went out late in the afternoon to write some posts at Capital Teas, my new favorite spot. Their Roasted Almond Rooibos tea is incredible as a latte!!!

Foodblog (18 of 28)

On my way home I picked up dinner at Whole Foods for the family – loving the sweet potato casserole they have on the hot bar right now!

Foodblog (19 of 28)

We went to a renovation party on Saturday night for some friends and I ate too much cheese and sang lots of 1D songs : )

Foodblog (17 of 28)

Sunday morning pancakes! Mazen’s favorite.

Foodblog (20 of 28)

I had two soccer games on Sunday for my last of the fall season. I sprained my right ankle again and nearly broke my left one. Also got a ball to the face! It wasn’t an easy day. I had a lot of shots on goal, including a header that alllllmost went in. We lost one and won one – it was a fun day overall.

Matt surprised me with some hot bar food at the game in between them – much appreciated!

Foodblog (23 of 28)

Karen is here visiting and we had pizzas for dinner on Sunday night, plus a yummy cheese plate for cocktail hour.

Foodblog (24 of 28)

Foodblog (22 of 28)

We started the day with eggs, grapes, raspberries and toast! Plus hot coffee -it’s below freezing here already!

Foodblog (28 of 28)

This clip had me in stitches this morning! Love Adele!

xoxo

The greenish-colored sweater/sweatshirt you’re wearing looks so pretty from what I can see! I really love the neckline, if you don’t mind me asking, where did you get it from?

The worst part about coming to your blog is that it always makes me hungry for very specific foods 🙂 I need a smoothie & a plate of salmon NOW!

Off to make a smoothie for breakfast and talk to Mr. Science about dinner plans… 😉

The photo of you showing off your earrings is gorgeous!! Great looking eats, but ouch that game sounds like it was a killer! A coworker just told me about the show Blood and Oil. Do you really like it? I thought about Matt and I starting to watch it. Have a great day!

I love Blood and Oil (and Nashville!) but read online it’s likely to end and not be renewed 🙁

I did watch that too (because I loved Parenthood), but wasn’t sure I was going to continue. It was quite gruesome and felt more like it should be on cable.

I no longer use Windows Live Writer to blog (which was a huge selling point for Windows) and when my laptop started to get old I asked a handful of tech friends what the lightest weight, best battery machine was. Most of them said the MacBook Air, so that’s what I go. I LOVE it and the battery life and weight exceeded expecations! There are a few quirks that I miss from Windows, but consider myself a convert to Apple. I also switched to an iPhone when my contract was up – total convert. Although I still stand by how much I like Android and its Google integration and widgets : )

Hiya Kath!!! Just wanted to throw out a warning not to let Mazen play with those bugs. I first saw them on a late-night newscast last night from Charlotte. They’re here in NC now too. They carry some type of parasite that can make you very sick—cold and flu-like symptoms that can develop into much more serious illnesses. Just wanted to give you a heads-up. Take care, blessed be, hugs!!!

Hi Kath! Coincidentally I just read your post after reading this article: http://www.wistv.com/story/30591372/cdc-deadly-kissing-bug-reported-in-ga-al?clienttype=generic

The bug in your picture looks a lot like the one in the article. Not to make you paranoid but figured I’d pass it along in case you see more.
