WBO

Happy Morning!

I had a happy evening with a cup of tea, a few IKEA cookies and Gossip Girl. Sadly a spider and a month decided to join me so I was a bit on edge on the bug front. When will they leave me alone!? Gossip Girl is getting better. I was furious after the second episode of the season in terms of quality, but I think it is regaining momentum.

I knew today would be a whipped banana oatmeal (WBO) day 🙂

IMG_4467 (640x427)

  • 1/3 cup oats, milk, water, pinch salt
  • 1 small banana
  • 1 tbsp raisins
  • 1/2 tbsp chia seeds
  • ~1/3 cup cooked wheatberries, stirred in at end
  • Splash vanilla
  • Sprinkle Mix My Granola
  • A few toasty almonds
  • Packet Barney Butter that didn’t come out of the packet as nicely as I had envisioned

Excellent kitchen essentials! Especially the hazelnut butter. 😉

I’ve been meaning to get a salad spinner forever but every time I look at the price tag I can’t bring myself to do it.

Can’t wait to watch GG…I was watching Monday Night Football last night so I DVR’d Chuck and crew. I agree that it sucked out loud the first episode or two, I’m hoping it gets better!!

    Yay for oatmeal!!

I often add Molasses to my oatmeal. Its a great source of Vitamin B and adds some sweetness to the mix. I use Crosby’s Fancy Molasses – but I’m sure there are many more types out there.

Oatmeal is such a good start to the day – thanks for keeping it out there and livening up the options.

Your oatmeals always inspire me! Two days ago I made a side dish of chopped apples, butternut squash, pecans, cinnamon, & vanilla (with a sprinkle of brown sugar), baked til soft. This morning I added the leftovers to my oatmeal. SO good! I’d have never thought to add squash to veggies before. 🙂
