Wanderer

Not all those who wander are lost

–J.R.R. Tolkein

You know what wandered today?

My hand! Into the Cville Cluster bag!!

IMG_4200Blog

I “bought” myself a refill – I was out at home!

IMG_4201Blog

To those of you who received your mixes, I think the heat + transport melted the ink off a bit, and I’ve had several requests for the nutritional info + cooking directions – here they are!

Pancake Oatmeal   Cville-Cluster

I had a great time with these two turkeys at work today. Matt was off relaxing!

20 minutes of sweaty biking later…

IMG_4213Blog

IMG_4206Blog

We made cucumber and tomato salads with blue cheese and peanuts topped with crispy seared salmon

IMG_4212Blog

High heat + lots of salt + lots of oil = salmon crisp. This was from the Copper River salmon marketing association who sent a GIANT piece of fish a few weeks ago. We couldn’t eat it all – even with Karen’s help and leftovers – so I sliced it into pieces, individually wrapped them in plastic wrap and froze them. Perfect for a quick dinner (just remember to thaw ahead!)

IMG_4204Blog

Tomato from our garden!

IMG_4211Blog

Matt poured a special barleywine from Bluegrass Brewing Company but unfortunately something was wrong with it. He said maybe a foreign yeast got inside. I barely had a sip – gross floating yeast!

I’m off to watch the best show ever!!!

[Well, besides Gossip Girl, Full House, Salute Your Shorts, Hey Dude and a few more…]

I have a question about the nutritional info for the granola. Isn’t 2 ounces only 1/4 a cup? Just curious since the label states 2 ounces is 1/2 cup. Can you please clarify this for me. Thanks so much.

Lynn, Weight and volume are totally different. 1/4 a cup = 2 liquid ounces, but not necessarily weight ounces. Some foods come out to the same, but an airy granola isn’t one of them. I weighed the granola on my food scale and 2 ounces did come out to about half a cup.
