Veg-a-saurus

Whew! Test is O-ver! Yay! It went well enough as a hard Biochem test can go. We shall see come Wednesday (or worse case, a week from now).

After Food Science, Cara invited Kelsey and me over to her house again for lunch. It’s nice to hang out in a comfortable room. If you’d like to see what Cara (and her living room) are like, here is a wild video she made with her roommate late one night: Dino DNA + the Jurassic Spastics.

For lunch today I packed a huge pile of vegetables. Mixed greens, peppers, carrots, broccoli, tomatoes tossed in some fig balsamic vinegar and topped with some cottage cheese.

(The rest of the cottage cheese)

IMG_1829 (800x600)

Plus a small sandwich of smoked salmon mousse from Saturday’s party on GH “French Toast” bread. And a few mixed greens and dill.

IMG_1827 (800x600)

Some strawberries + kiwi (and I’m saving another half cup or so for Foodservice fruitcapades!)

IMG_1828 (800x600)

A sparking water

IMG_1830 (800x600)

IMG_1824 (800x600)

And two Hershey’s kisses amongst dinos for dessert. I had to fight them for the chocolate!

IMG_1834 (800x600)

I’m still kind of hungry. I think I needed more sustenance in my salad. I was also starving around 11:30 today. I think the test drained me of glucose + glycogen! I might dig into the rest of my fruit early. And I’ve got a LaraBar to have for a snack later if I need it.

Off to class #3.

I actually read a study recently that showed how intense brain activity (like studying, or working on a really hard project) – makes you MORE hungry than exercise. Don’t remember where I saw it, but if I find it I’ll send you a link!

maybe you feel like you’re hungry from the sparkling water? The bubbles/fizz in those types of drinks always make my stomach feel “rumbly” or empty.

I’m always full after such a fibrous meal, that then it seems like an hour or so later I feel so EMPTY!
