Up, Up And Away!

Relaxing morning around here, but it’s off to a good start. The husband didn’t want to workout early today so I’m planning to go running this afternoon. I hope it’s a nice and warm out so I can run like the wind 🙂

Today’s oats = awesomeness.

DSC05349

I crumbled 1/3 of one of these Honest Foods bars on top and it was really fun to eat!

  • 1/3 cup Windy Hills flax oats, 2% milk, water
  • Salt, vanilla
  • 1/2 large banana
  • 1 tbsp raisins
  • 2 tbsp wheatberries
  • 1/3 Chocolate Peanut Butter Country Square
  • Spoonful Toffee Butter PB

Plus a great cup of coffee –

I’ve got my first full day of T/TH classes in a while. And am planning to munch at EarthFare.

Peace out!

Sounds like this morning is off to a good start! I bet that crumbled bar added amazing texture to the oats. I still need to try those bars! They look delicious!

    hey everyone!
I have a question that you may be able to help with: I have been incredibly nauseous throughout the duration of this last year. i am not pregnant and have not changed my eating habits. i have seen multiple doctors about this and nobody really has a solution (other than take heart medication that would reduce the nausea….). could i have a food intolerance? i am wondering if it is wheat related. i’d love any insight you may have. kath–have you studied this yet in your coursework?

    have a good day, all.

    Ray-
Have you had your inner ear checked? I know it sounds unrelated, but your inner ear dysfunction can cause nauseous. My sister in law had this same problem, she was constantly feelijng woozy and dizzy etc. Finally she had her inner ears checked and it turns out one of them wasn’t functioning at all. She went through what it sounsd like you are with your doctors. Just a thought, from semi-personal experience.

Mags- I found them in my Giant Eagle store (I live in Ohio) in the regular bread section, near the english muffins and bagels. They are REALLY good and I love that they are only 100 calories. I got the whole wheat. Good luck finding them!

Love the chocolate addition to your oats this morning!! Deeee-licious.

Hope today turns out better than yesterday. Just one day closer to Friday and… Halloween!! Are you and the husband dressing up, or just giving out candies to the little trick-or-treaters?

That’s funny- I’m planning an afternoon run as well, but I’m praying that it’s not TOO warm (supposed to be 80!).

Oats look great! Your post last night cracked me up- the part about only having to wait a few hours for another bowl of oatmeal 🙂

I had to HUNT for those, and finally found them on an end cap of the bread aisle. You could always ask the manager too!

those squares are my favorite, the cran lemon zest is pretty good too.. they got me hooked on those by giving them as sampleswith my planks and i like these better actually but they cost more, possibly because of the indiv. packaging… yummy!!

Ray, are you on birth control pills? those can make you feel nauseous. also I am easily nauseated. I also faint quite easily in stuffy situations. My doctor told me I have hyper vasovagual syndrome. Just meaning your body is extra sensitive to nauseating situations. I have a irregular heart beat and low blood pressure which also contributes to fainting and nausea. So my solution is to eat every 3 hours. Always including protein. This keeps nausea away by keeping blood sugar level. Just a thought. I know the feeling!

I have a random question. I am notorious for over exercizing, not listening to my body and pushing myself too hard. How many days do you do cardio and weights?
    Thanks

    ray ,
I don’t think there’s anything I have heard/read that your doctor probably didn’t already check.

    Cat ,
I am planning to go as a zombie bride – and wear my wedding dress! We’re going to pass out candy with our neighbors down the street that we just met (at their house).

    Amy Jo,
That’s what I like to hear!

    Cassidy ,
I lift weights 2-3 times a week and alternate cardio between more strenuous (running and stairs) and lighter days (elliptical, biking or walking). If I’m too sore to go to the gym, I do light walking or take the day off. Sounds like you know what you need to do: start listening more.

Ray… I actually have a wheat intolerance (different than an allergy or celiac disease). My symptoms did not include nausea, rather ezcema/skin issues and various GI issues. My doctor was able to do some blood work that indicated the elevated levels in regards to wheat. It is a pretty big pain so for your sake I hope you don’t have it! Hope that helps!
