Two Feet On The Ground

IMG_8804

12 days in August

8 days in November

7 days in December

12 days in January

Please don’t make me travel any more!!

At least not for a few months 🙂 I really do love to travel, but 4-5 day trips are my preference. It feels so strange to be home!

I slept well in my fluffy bed. And woke up smiling into the sunshine streaming through the windows. Hobbled down for some long-missed oats!

IMG_8795

The Mix

  • 1/4 cup oat bran
  • 1/4 cup oats
  • Half milk, half water
  • 1 banana – half inside, half on top!
  • Pinch salt, vanilla, cinnamon
  • Salted peanuts
  • Coconut
  • TJs Sunflower Butter

IMG_8799

The Good Stuff. In my Hues + Brews mug!

IMG_8803

I’ve got a list a MILE long (not exaggerating!) to do between now and when we hope to open the bakery doors in late April/May. Matt is in charge of most of the equipment + construction + business side which leaves me with all things interior design + marketing + PR + web. This is really happening and there’s so much to do to make it happen!

IMG_8801

Dave Farmar and I have a date this morning for some MUCH needed stretching, and then I’m off to the grocery store or I’ll be eating oatmeal again for lunch!

Thanks for introducing me to dave farmar — I did his podcast for the first time this week and LOVED it. It’s nice to have a challenging yoga practice — most videos don’t cut it for me anymore.

Thank goodness your training experience was so positive and fueled you two with positive energy for planning your new business venture.
I always cheer on the self employed entrepreneurs (partly because I am one too 😉

Self employed businesses are a tremendous amount of work with long hours ,but one plus obviously is you are working for yourself- no nasty boss in sight!(And I have a feeling you two will be very supportive and generous with the staff you do hire).

I am a fellow blogger and am amazed at how wonderfully you are able to keep up on your blogging with beautiful posts every day, often 2 or more posts a day! Great job. Also, I myself am an aspiring entrepreneur and am looking to relocate to another state later this year. We are looking at Charlottesville as a potential city to settle in. I hope your bakery is open by May because we are planning a trip out there then. Love the blog! Take care!

I hear you on missing home – I just got back from studying in Turkey for two weeks and trust me that oatmeal is NOT a thing there… I think I’ve eaten oats every day since I got back. I even ordered them at a restaurant for brunch. I also missed yoga – but I might have gone a bit overboard and went to 4 classes in 2 days, my glutes and thighs are not happy with me at the moment 🙂

Welcome home! I have a question for you. How do you organize all of the pictures you take? As part of my New Year’s resoultion I am trying to get organized, but my photos are such a mess. I don’t even know where to start! What is your method for organizing both digital and printed photos? How do you decide which ones to print? Thanks for your help!

    • Kath says

      January 21, 2011 at 4:17 pm

      Hey Kristin,
I don’t print anything, so that helps 🙂 Maybe just major events.

As for digital, I edit and resize all my photos after uploading then delete the high res folders. I WISH I could keep them all and tag them properly but it’s just not realistic for me and I don’t think it’s worth the trouble to get one high res photo when I need it. I save all of my low-res blog web upload ones in one folder, and do use some tags.

Personal photos (such as our Montana trip) are saved in their own area – because personal photo ops happen much less often.
