The Wild Side

Here’s Kirst!!

BLOG-0111

She’s quite the trooper – spent 2 years in Niger in the Peace Corps and then went back to school for nursing at Duke and just landed a job! She’s taking a trip to DC before it starts and stopped by to visit.

We took advantage of the sunshine once she arrived to take a walk over to UVA for a little tour

BLOG-0114

BLOG-0116

BLOG-0117

Zoom in to that number! It’s always SO exciting to see it featured!

BLOG-0118

BLOG-0123

BLOG-0119

Once home, we were greeted by a tiger

BLOG-0124

And then opened some wine to chillax

BLOG-0128

BLOG-0132

For dinner tonight, we had Karen and Faith and Tate over to meet Kirst and enjoy some delicious beany soup.

Made from a Frontier mix! We added tomatoes, kale and red wine to the mix

BLOG-0129

BLOG-0141

With plain yogurt, it was quite delicious!!

BLOG-0154

BLOG-0148

Karen brought a green salad, dressed in garlic gold vinaigrette

BLOG-0151

Faith brought over some doughy, crusty bread

BLOG-0137

BLOG-0152

I had a coupla glasses of wine – that left me laughing so hard that I couldn’t breathe hearing Karen talk about her Vaseline routine to keep her facial skin supple!

BLOG-0144

BLOG-0140

For dessert I broke out some dark chocolate paired with orange and apricots

BLOG-0158

BLOG-0161

And we all had a blast trying to tackle impossible challenges – like picking up a $20 bill on one foot with no arms.

BLOG-0171

FYI, Faith can do it but I have yet to tumble to the floor!

Too bad we didn’t have any saltines!
