The Scuffinmobile

The Scuffinmobile, the Scuffinmobile, riding along in the Scuffunmobile!

IMG_3030Blog

IMG_3026Blog

Just the bike that delivers scuffins!

IMG_3027Blog

Our downtown plans were rained out, but Faith and Tate were a bit of sunshine!! They invited us over to dinner. I could not have asked for a more delicious dinner, per usual.

IMG_3036BlogIMG_3041Blog-2

We had Rose

IMG_3033Blog

And air conditioning!!

IMG_3035Blog

And grilled Twin Oaks tofu plus squash grown by Faith

IMG_3037Blog

And Dakota buns – “grown” by Matt!

IMG_3040Blog

Plus cucs (also a Faith special!) with basil [also home grown] and goat cheese

IMG_3044Blog-2IMG_3043BlogIMG_3042Blog-2

And a tomato chutney

IMG_3041Blog-2

And of course a giant salad. Get this – the cabbage and peppers from the salad were THOMAS JEFFERSON’S! They came from the Monticello Garden, which Faith picked herself with a friend who works at Monticello. I’m sure there are bits and pieces of Jefferson’s time transferred from the soil to the veggies. And I ate ‘em!

IMG_3049Blog

Delicious

The little stories behind each part of this meal are wonderful! How fantastic that so many parts of it are grown or made by one of you and you know where everything came from! That is the stuff of good meals.

Okay, so I’ve been reading your blog since 2008, long before I knew the blog world even existed. Your blog was my introduction to the blogging world and this is the first time I’ve ever commented. I was scrolling quickly down Perez Hilton’s website (an embarassing and only semi-occasional guilty pleasure…gulp) and I saw your face! There was an ad for Open Sky with your smiling face holding bread. You’re famous, although I am sure you already know that! 😉 Also, I’ve been going to Great Harvest here in northern California for years and I always thought it was a small local business! I love it! Happy blogging and baking!

I’m on board with Scuffins for President. Let me know if you need a campaign manager 😉

That meal really does look amazing. I wish all of mine could have that many “home grown” items – it would be such a wonderful thing. Hopefully that’s what the future holds for most everyone! (Let’s add it to one of the Scuffin’s Presidential stances – “All meals will be home grown and delicious!”)

Sorry rain ruined your plans but at least you had a killer backup! 🙂

I guess I have missed something along the way, but what, exactly, is a “Scuffin?” Or is that the name of your husband’s bike? Several of my friends have given their bikes fanciful names, including Dolly, Bubbles, and Raptor.
