When The Sun Shines, We Shine Together

I went running with the sun this morning. The sun runs fast. I did not.

IMG_3081Blog

My run was more like a jog today than a run – I think my legs are tired from too many lunges yesterday! I ended up cutting the run short and did 3.26 miles instead of 4 (.26 was not intentional!)

30 minutes of running before breakfast – I’ll take it any day! Also before breakfast: half a banana with peanut butter for jogging fuel. Delish!

After emptying the dishwasher, showering and making my lunch fresh from the garden, I decided to keep it simple and pour a bowl of mixed cereals.

IMG_3080Blog

I got these puffs from the Whole Foods close out sale. Reminded me of being a kid!

IMG_3065Blog

They were pretty sweet though so I cut them with puffed quinoa (from the bulk bins), toasted buckwheat and some granola. Plus chia seeds, blueberries and ‘loupe!

IMG_3078BlogIMG_3071BlogIMG_3077Blog

And two cups of freshly brewed then iced coffee. Now I’m shaking in my flip flops!! I’m back on coffee HARD but I’m going to roll with it because it is delicious and what my palate wants these days.

IMG_3069Blog

Plus, with a wedding tonight, I could use some help staying up late!

Have a WONDERFUL Saturday. I’m off to work!

If I work out my legs the day before a run, they feel like lead the next day! Even if it was a jog, at least you went 🙂

There is nothing like a good ol’ bowl of cold cereal on a hot, hot day! Plus everything tastes 10x more delicious after a run, right? 😉

    I love that bowl!

I have a hard time deciding what I’m most attracted to when reading your posts – the food or the dishware it’s served in! 😉

I’ve been craving a big bowl of cereal + fruit lately and yours looks awesome. I really need to get my hands on some of that puffed quinoa…

Glad you got a run in to start your day – there’s nothing better 🙂

Puffed wheat was always my favourite breakfast cereal as a lil’one…granted it was the super sugary variety…but it remains one of my favourite breakfasts today. I love it topping off a great big SIAB an sometimes just a plain handful as a snack! Its got such a delicious toasty flavour. Love seein it on yer blogginz!

I love eating a banana w/nut butter (almond in my case) for a pre workout snack…it always hits the spot and accomplishes my goal: satisfying without weighing down. Of course, the most fun way to eat it is sandwich style!

I agree re. coffee…one mug-ful (no matter how “addicted” you may become) is just fine…a morning pleasure and fairly healthful – in moderation – too!

Hope you are having a fun, successful day at the bakery, Kath!

I wasn’t really feeling my workout today either–but that’s okay. Haha, I have a bag of puffed wheat in my pantry that I’m pretty sure I bought before Thanksgiving last year… cereal lasts a long time around these parts! I sure do miss coffee… I’m going to have to start slowly reintroducing it to my system now that I’m stronger. Got to get ready in time for the school year and those early mornings! 🙂
