The Edge Of Glory

Breakfast today is sponsored by the letter C. ‘Cause it’s Friday! I swear this was a totally accidental drawing!

IMG_4708-2Blog

I woke up early so I could watch SYTYCD over breakfast. I was really surprised by the guy who went home! I also have a new love for Lady Gaga. I really don’t know much about her other than she wears wacky clothes, but I have connected the face with the music and really love her songs – and her messages! She was so personable as a guest judge on the show and I feel like I “know” her now. I’m a new fan!

IMG_4701-2Blog

I made 10 minute soaked oats today – basically the same mixture as overnight oats without the 10 hour soak. They were not good. You just need that soak for the oats to get all the doughy flavor! They weren’t bad though. I just mixed 1/4 cup oats, 1/3 cup yogurt and 1/3 cup milk with chia seeds and on top – a peach, blueberries, coconut, Cville Cluster and sunfower butter

IMG_4704-2Blog

A note to all the OpenSky Cville Cluster orderers: the Cville Cluster is not supposed to be crunchy – it’s like a crumbled soft granola bar and it’s more bready than crunchy. That’s what makes it addicting!! Just wanted to clarify that for those who have emailed me inquiring. Also, here’s a link to the pancake mix directions.

IMG_4708-2Blog

Earl Gray! One of my favorite teas. I’m so weird about teas:

Love: black, creamy, minty, vanillay

Hate: Fruity, citrus, watery, spiced

IMG_4706-2Blog

IMG_4710-2Blog

I’m headed to Pump in a bit – then to the bakery – then to celebrate Americana Night!

Those peaches look perfect! I may miss those the most when summer ends. Chewier “not so overnight” oats can be really satisfying some days. I sometime just let them sit in yogurt and granola post-run while I shower and devour them after about 20 mins.

I’m with you on the tea qualities. Fruity teas always seem like such a good idea but then they’re just not very good in actuality.

Gaga was on Howard Stern recently and thankfully my boyfriend has a Sirius subscription so when they re-aired the interview I got to hear it. I’ve liked Gaga for a long time, but hearing that made me really appreciate her even more. If you can get your hands on the audio, definitely listen to it.

I’ve been making some overnight oats in the morning too. Since I am on vacation – I havea little extra time – so I just wait it out – and then don’t have to worry about doing it at night.

When I am working though – I could not even THINK of having the time to prep in the morning!

(though i was not a fan of Lady Gaga’s constant criticism of numerous choreographers… made her seem like a know-it-all… and the whole “I’ve won lots of trophies” hands comment ticked me off… she’s the one who’s so into herself. buttttt I’m done :))

I was surprised about her comments about the choreography as well! I didn’t think she “dissed” anyone – but I didn’t feel it gave much respect to them. I didn’t watch that closely – she is very personable – but I think her fashion and stuff is just gone beyond now and she’s trying to hard?

I definitely believe the notion, “if you don’t have anything nice to say, then don’t say anything at all.” But I have to say that I really do not like Lady Gaga. She seems so insincere and incredibly dramatic where it is unnecessary. I just do not understand why the public would put her on a pedestal for such ridiculous behavior, but if anyone else tried her antics, they’d likely be committed to a mental institution. She just seems strung out on drugs, and she gets praised for it. But to each his/her own in terms of opinion.

ANYWAYS, I had oats stirred into yogurt this morning, and it definitely wasn’t as tasty as overnight oats. Yours still looked really pretty! I hope you really enjoy your Friday!!

If you like her, then that’s awesome! I just wanted to express my opinion, but that won’t buy you much. 😉 I’m a new fan of SYTYCD, and Kaci and I have been watching for the past several weeks. I love Gaga, but I definitely see how some people don’t understand her. One thing I love most about her is her humor, and she’s extremely intelligent. She uses marijuana, not cocaine; not that that’s a great thing to promote to youth, but at least she’s honest. Remember, she’s mastered the “art of celebrity” so she’ll always say and do things to get people talking 🙂

Yes, I definitely like that she isn’t a cookie-cutter celebrity/singer. I just think she goes a little too far sometimes. But I like several of Kesha’s songs, and she’s different for sure. It’s nice to have a variety of music and artists for everyone to relate to. 🙂

Received my CVille Cluster OpenSky yesterday — hid the granola from my husband and kids…too good to share! But made the oatmeal for my kids this morning…they LOVED it. I think that addition of dry milk makes the difference. Saving the pancake mix for next week when we will have house guests. Hoping this is repeated on OpenSky, or offered through your store for shipping to Boston, because it will be gone soon!

I am not suprised at all that [he] went home. I was jumping for joy and screaming FINALLY!! and high fiving my husband. I have no idea why anyone likes him. He is annoying, always danced with his mouth hanging open, could not partner and really could only dance in his style. I didn’t think that Gaga was a very good judge. She turned everything back to herself (does she really need more attention) and over criticized the choreographers. She doesn’t like props and called things dated? Kind of hypocritical in my opinion. That I’m on the Edge song and video is straight up 80’s…BAD 80’s. My only experience with Gaga has been through SYTYCD and while I don’t dislike her, I don’t think she is all that great either. I don’t get the hype.

I felt the SAME way about Lady Gaga and also share your SYTYCD addiction! Although I’ve always had a secret fondness for Lady Gaga’s music, I resisted actually liking her for the longest time. Not anymore! I loved her sincerity, kindness, and comments – especially the one about how she puts away all of her awards so she doesn’t get a big head! Then she cried, and I loved her even more. What a beautiful moment! I don’t even mind her wacky “fashion” anymore…good for her to have confidence and express how she feels!

I.love.Lady.Gaga. She is absolutely amazing, and that love for her grew after reading her interviews and hearing her talk about everything…she’s incredible and I absolutely love her messages in her songs…Born This Way is my anthem and a song I love to listen to when I need my spirits lifted 🙂

I’m very picky about teas, too. And I love to use the phrase “not my cup of tea” for all teas I don’t like.

Haha I actually like to mix raw oats and yogurt and then eat it straight. I like the chewiness! But I always add some mashed banana!

Isn’t it lovely making time to watch something you really love over a bowl of something delicious? I did that with a mushroom pilaf and True Blood last night 🙂

I was wondering about spicy tea, because I thought you hated one chai but loved another chai! That’s how I am, I hate black chai but love red chai.

I agree, but I think she also didn’t “connect with America” as well -she was in the bottom 3 more I think?
