The 50s

IMG_4995Blog

Something about this breakfast reminds me of the 1950s. The florals. The lime green setting.

IMG_4999Blog

Inside the bowl was a combo of yogurt, banana, blueberries, wheat waffles, Ellwood granola and almond butter.

IMG_4994Blog

A tale of many textures and flavors.

I have more writing to do this morning, questionable visit to Body Pump, a mid-afternoon meeting with Matt about a possible television appearance, and a Mexican dinner planned with a friend.

Let’s get it started in heya.

What kind of yogurt have you been using lately? I wouldn’t eat anything but greek for awhile but now I’ve really been enjoying Stonyfield plain.

I’ve been hooked on Oikos, but this was actually Whole Foods Organic Low-Fat. I find it to be the best plain I’ve tried (it’s less sour than Stonyfield)

so this is random, but I was just catching up on your posts from yesterday. Hands down, the best shows on television right now are Whitney, Modern Family, Up all night. You need to DVR all of them! seriously worth it!

also, how much protein do you recommend to tone up? I’m 127 pounds and a vegetarian and I’m trying to up my protein to tone up a little more. I’ve heard to eat half of my body weight. What do you think? Thanks!

For someone who is not sick, recovering, a major body builder or pregnant, the AND recommends 0.8 grams/kg body weight.

so for me, that would be about 101 grams of protein. That seems like alot, but doable esp with the help of a serving of hemp or egg white protein power every day. Thanks Kath!

          no for you it’s 46grams. 127/2.2 = 57.7 kg and then x 0.8 = 46. very doable!

It does look very 50’s. I can totally see it in my grandmother’s kitchen cabinets in her old house with the puke green countertops. <–said in the most nostalgic of ways 😉

I remember growing up with that colour on the stove and refridgerator…it seemed like years before it got replaced! It was quite the rage at the time. I much prefer the simple whites of today.
