Taking Shape

We have a bakery!!

IMG_8869Blog

With tables + chairs (Thanks to CAROLINE at IKEA Baltimore for all of her help with them!) Ball jars soon to be filled with wheatberries + signs!

IMG_8872Blog

We have merchandise racks

IMG_8873Blog

That are now filled with delicious retail add-ons!

IMG_8884BlogIMG_8883Blog

Mom + Gram – recognize your antique basket!?

IMG_8885Blog

We have cakestands – with homemade label stands!

IMG_8874Blog

All ready for sweets!

IMG_8875Blog

There are more shelves to fill

IMG_8886Blog

And homemade mixes to make! [Like our recycled library table from Possessions Recycled!?]

IMG_8887Blog

We have a crazy husband

IMG_8878Blog

PartsBlog

And a great friend for helping us out! Thanks Faith!

IMG_8876Blog

Apple snack to hold me over to dinner

IMG_8877Blog

Matt and I worked straight through till 7PM and then called it quits. We strategically planned a dinner out tonight! A bit of biking (and driving for Matt) and we met out our destination –

WalkingBlog

Continental Divide! I’d call it a hole in the wall, but it’s really a nice restaurant. But it’s also hidden – and when you eat there you feel like you’re part of a secret

IMG_8907Blog

We started with beers – hard-earned beers!

IMG_8899Blog

Brooklyn Brown for me, Old Rasputin for him

IMG_8904Blog

No tequila was consumed in the making of this blog post. I swear!

IMG_8906Blog

We were working! Making lists. The usual!

IMG_8910Blog

For dinner I got the same irresistible burrito I got the last time we ate there. Filled with beans, mushrooms, peppers and cheese, it was DELICIOUS!

IMG_8918Blog

Came with a side of rice, a spicy tomato sauce, and a PUMPKIN MUFFIN!

IMG_8920Blog

I ate one burrito (saved the rest for leftovers), most of my rice and the muffin for dessert!

IMG_8917Blog

Off to get some rest – tomorrow I’m going to the bakery and staying all day!

I see you’ve reached the part of opening a business where you’ve lost your minds and become completely wacky (at least one of you!) That means the end (or the beginning) is near!

I love watching this process and wish you so much success and joy!

I would avoid nuts with kids possibly having nut allergies (can be deadly).
Veggies and healthy dips/hummus always a hit for sure!

Also they could do make their own “pizzas” on pitas (you lay out toppings like
tomato sauce, veggies, etc for them to chose from (unless too huge a group of
        course!)

Good point! Forgot about that…um, no nuts! Try seeds…maybe!

Agree with the hummus – although there are more people than I thought that can’t tolerate chickpeas.

Salsa dip! With veggies and pita bread. Ditto the pizza’s. Can never go wrong…

Ha…Matt is such a goofball! Glad to see you both are in good spririts, despite your exhaustion.

The bakery is shaping up terrifically! Your attention to detail is imprinted all over it. I simply ADORE that renovated table…the shade of green paint is so cool.

Now, the fun will will begin…as you’ve been known to exclaim, “whee!”
