Sunny Side Up

Good morning!

Matt and I were up at 7:15 to go for a run around town. It’s the most beautiful morning – sunny, hot and breezy. We ran to Ayrmount, a historic house with a 1-mile trail and back. We did the trail forwards and backwards and ran there and back – just over 5 miles. We also stopped for about 10 minutes to pet some dachsunds on the way home! (Darnit – why aren’t they just spelled “doxens”! That’s how I say it)

Dad likes to “encourage” certain foods that are up in stock (Nate!) when we’re home. Sometimes it’s fruit or veggies, and today it was farm fresh eggs that he had a few dozen of. So eggs were on the breakfast menu. He was pleased 🙂

We ate big breakfasts because the funeral is at noon followed by a memorial service and we’re not sure when we’ll have a chance to eat again. We’ve packed sandwiches to eat during one of the caravans from one location to another.

It’s going to be a sad day saying goodbye to Grampa. I knew him for the eight years I’ve been with Matt, 2 years as his granddaughter 🙂

Here he is with Matt and Andrew on our wedding day. One of my favorite photos ever!

We’ll miss you Grampa

I am sorry to hear about Matt’s grampa. I lost mine before I was 4, I have a slight memory of my grampa on my dads side. The picture of the boys together is beautiful. Both you and Matt take care.
