Strawberry Cheeseoats

IMG_7412Blog

Lovely breakfast on the porch!!

IMG_7416Blog

I actually took my book club book outside (just a few pages to go before tonight’s meeting!! RUSH!) and read on our new furniture for breakfast! It’s warm enough out there to be outside in the morning and not be cold. I hate cold weather so very much, and I’m thrilled spring is just around the corner.

IMG_7417Blog

This was a lovely, voluminous bowl of Strawberry Cheesecake oats! Strawberry from strawberries and cheesecake from cottage cheese! I use a little extra water and those two mix-ins really pump up the volume. Almond buttah on top.

IMG_7418Blog

Hot tea on the side. I was up at 5am wide awake this morning – but relieved to see a 5 on my clock and not a 3! I got up sooner and drank some juice and then fell back asleep reading my book, so I’m wondering if hunger really is to blame? I’m also feeling the baby move more and more and wonderful if my body is waking up to that!? It’s like a little mouse in there!

IMG_7421Blog

Have a wonderful Tuesday!

Lately, I’ve been waking up in the middle of the night to have a snack. Unfortunately, I have no baby to blame :). Usually said snack is cottage cheese, too. It really does taste like cheesecake.

These oats look so delicious to me! I love the idea of strawberry cheesecake in the morning. Yum. What a way to start the day! 🙂

So exciting to feel the baby moving! That must be such an incredible feeling. I cannot wait to experience that sometime in my life.

It’s been years now, but whenever you put cottage cheese in your oatmeal I always have the urge to thank you for introducing me to that idea! My favorite is whipped banana oats with cottage cheese stirred in at the end. (With Biscoff spread on top!)

I tried to always have a little middle-of-the-night snack on hand — just a few bites of granola bar, some peanuts and raisins, or a couple of crackers. I do think I needed it, and I felt better in the morning. You may as well get used to the very early morning snacks, because if you’re breastfeeding, you’ll probably want snacks on hand when you’re up feeding your little one.

I wonder how long it will take me to realize the baby is moving once I’m able to feel it. I’ll prolly just think it’s gas, LOL!

I’ve read lots of people keep snacks by the bed for middle of the night hunger pangs. My hunger usually hits before bed- thankfully that hasn’t woken me up…yet.

This is more in the front and it’s way more constant than gas would be. But they are similar and I do think i’ve confused them a little!

Wow, those look awesome!! Do you find that adding cottage cheese makes the oats lukewarm, or do you heat them all together?

I stirred it in at the end and it’s still plenty hot. I think the oats are so hot that the CC takes on their heat pretty quickly

    Several things:
    A) I now want cheesecake, the real deal.
    B) I also want cottage cheese
    C) I have gone through several “phases” in my pregnancy, where I NEED to eat in the middle of the night. During my 2nd tri, it was often at 2,3,or 4 in the morning. Now, it is about 4:30 or 5am. I think the hardest part about pregnancy eating for me, was getting used to totally different hunger cues/satiety levels. I like to eat on a schedule each day, at roughly the same time (or I did, when I had a desk job) and I have found during pregnancy, that that is all out the window. Especially if the baby is having a growth spurt (my conjecture, not science).
