Stomach Wars

I woke up this morning not hungry at all from last night’s fullness and had decided I’d work out first thing to be productive and go to cycle since I haven’t been in a while.

But I didn’t wanna 👿

I wanted to eat breakfast despite not being hungry.

Came downstairs. Debated.

Finally my brain made a huge bowl of oatmeal, ignoring my stomach’s protest.

  • 1/2 cup oats
  • Water
  • Pinch salt
  • 1 tbsp chia
  • 1/2 banana
  • Handful blueberries
  • 1/3 cupish Daisy Cottage Cheese
  • Spoonful VeggieGirl‘s Almond Haze

Perfectly frothed French press Spring Blend

Yum yum.

But now I’m too full to move! Intuitive Eating effort gets a C+ this morning.

Calling all CPAs!

I am looking for someone who might be interested in helping me with the Summit taxes. The less we spend having someone do the taxes, the more we can donate to good causes! Payment would be a loaf of Matt’s bread 🙂 I do my own taxes so it should really be more of look over of the itemized ledger and any advice than actually “doing” the taxes. Email me at KathEats at Gmail if you’re interested in helping out.

I am still learning everyday to listen to my Intuitive Eater. It’s very interesting to hear your experiences (good or bad) too. Thanks 🙂

It’s funny how when I worked full time I was always HUNGRY for breakfast early in the morning. Now that I’m at home, I have to make myself eat sometimes. That isn’t exactly intuitive eating and I’m glad you brought this up. Most of the time if I’m not hungry for breakfast I make msyelf eat mainly for “fuel” for my day.
    Cute new cupcake pic too!

Glad you still had an appetite for the Almond Haze though, haha 😀

I get that way with food and exercise. I’m full but my mind tells me to eat anyway because “I have to.” And I wanna exercise but my body is saying “No way Jose.” Interesting times.

I’m sure you will feel less full soon! Sometimes it’s good to get back on track like you did with a normal breakfast, otherwise it comes back to haunt you later on!

I’ve been struggling with Intuitive Eating lately as well. Knowing I’m not the only one is helping me work through it. Thanks Kath!

If I knew how to do taxes, I would help! I hope someone can do it- maybe I should just pretend so I can get some bread? 🙂

    Great article on ‘air fare’!

But, how do you keep everything from going bad?
It seems like you pack multiple meals with yogurt, sandwiches, etc. (that can go bad). And it seems like hours between packing it, travelling to the airport, boarding, etc…before you eat your food.

I have an insulated lunch bag and those things that you stick in the freezer, but I am still paranoid that my food will go bad.

I doubt you carry a cooler with you, right? How long can sandwiches, yogurt, etc. be out of the fridge safely?

    Thanks!

I know how hard it is to honor our bodies signals and sometimes I eat breakfast even when I am not hungry. But, the beauty of really listening to our bodies is trusting that it will balance out in the end the choices we make that go against the internal wisdom we already have. So, today, you consciously decided to eat when you were not hungry, later, you may not feel as hungry as you normally would so if you listen to your body, and not outside factors like time or the diet mentality, you will probably feel less hungry and automatically eat less. That is the wonderful thing, if we truly listen to our bodies, it will speak loud and clear.

I can’t remember the last time I woke up and wasn’t ravenous 😳 I kind of miss those days! lol

As a small business owner, I can say that taxes suck and I feel your pain. 🙁 Just wait until you guys open up your bakery! 😯 In NY state we pay 40% taxes (fed + state), 8.25% sales tax and then of course school and property taxes and a slew of other taxes. It ends up being that 60-80% of our taxes go to the gov in one way or another. Yet another reason why I’m a Libertarian. 🙂

Anything that is truly a business expense you can write off (business lunches/dinners, office equipment, servers, etc. etc.,) and part of your home office that you use for work (e.g., 25% of the cost of the room you use as an office ((the mortgage %, electricity, etc.)). Maybe invest in an inexpensive tax book from Amazon.com or something. We pay a CPA to do our taxes, but we still have to give him a list of our expenses. We need to hire someone that’s more aggressive lol. 🙄

If no one contacts you with CPA help, you can email me a list of your expenses. I can try to help but I’m not an expert like a CPA would be. 🙂

A loaf of bread for a CPA to help with taxes? Next time, factor that into the budget. You ate and drank like queens for 3 days, and you offer a loaf of bread? LOL

    Suzanne ,
Things like yogurt or a meat-filled sandwich I wouldn’t go longer than early morning to lunch time (and I don’t keep them chilled). But things like PB&J and fruit can go all day and be fine.

    60-80%!! HOLY MOLY!!!

    Amy ,
They gel a little, but not a whole lot. I just like ’em in there.

    Jenna ,
If my stomach is growling, I eat. If it’s not, then I’m fine.

    Angelica ,
We DID save money for taxes and CPA fees, but we are donating whatever is left to charity and were thinking that the less we spent, the more we could donate.

I just passed the CPA exam, and after surviving that nightmare I have to say a loaf of bread is not enough 🙂

I don’t have my license yet so can’t help unfortunately. Hopefully I’m not the only bean counter who reads your blog 🙂
