Squashed

IMG_8424-2Blog

Great Pump Challenge class this morning! Usually Chris-style with no breaks and lots of free weights. I love Chris’s chest, back, lunge and shoulder tracks, but I will always and forever despise calf raises. My calves do not need to be any bigger, tighter or stronger!

My gym is doing a member-guest challenge this month where a member can get a free membership for a guest to test it out. I signed Matt up this morning so it will be very fun if he comes to the gym with me a few times! If he thinks he’ll go enough, we’ll probably sign him up at the end of the challenge. He hasn’t joined thus far because the gym is pricey and he just didn’t think he’d use it enough while the bakery was just getting going.

I came home to make this KILLER goat cheese + cheddar quesadilla!!

IMG_8428-2Blog

The combo of the two cheeses was outstanding!

IMG_8425-2Blog

And surprised myself by cooking a zucchini along side!

IMG_8418-2Blog

I’ve always loved all kinds of squash : )

IMG_8426-2Blog

Served with grapes for a produce-heavy lunch!

IMG_8430-2Blog

Glass O’ milk to round out the protein side

Have a wonderful afternoon!

Your zucchini looks perfect! I made some zucchini chips in the oven yesterday and have one zucchini left in the fridge – might have to prepare it this way, those look soooo tasty.

What is Glad O milk? Is the “O” for organic? Love milk, but for some reason, organic always has a funny taste to me! I know it’s better for you, so I should probably get used to it.

love me a quesah dill uh. sometimes when i have milk/yogurt for breakfast, cheese for lunch (and maybe dinner), i worry that my diet is too protein-heavy. so i try to swap cheese for meat for at least one meal.

I’d love if my hubby and I could go to the gym together again but with 2 kids we have to stagger our workouts now. Our gym charges for daycare so it would be pointless to go together. Enjoy yourself!

I’m a long time reader of KERF and have always been interested in BodyPump as a fun way to work on strength during my year round half marathon training. Until recently, there was only one gym near me in Pittsburgh that had Les Mills classes. Another gym started offering them but I just finalized my plans to attend med school at UVA so I don’t want to commit to a gym membership here. I was wondering what gym you belong to because I’d like to check it out once I move to Charlottesville.

Also, have you ever done a post about what to expect at a BodyPump class, like how to select weights and all that for beginners? I don’t remember seeing one but thought it’d be helpful for other people wanting to try it out, since you find it so enjoyable and beneficial.

    Thanks!

This isn’t really an intro course, but it does talk about some of my reflections:

      https://www.katheats.com/campfire

I would honestly just go 10 minutes early and talk to the instructor about what weights to use – he/she will be able to show you much easier than I could tell you!
