Mind climbs out of dreams.
I peek out from my face mask. Eyes open.
It must be time to get up. 7:30 – indeed.
Glance to window:
Wait, what is that!?
An exciting surprise!!! When I went to bed I didn’t see any snow in the forecast. Such fun.
We probably only got an inch or so, but the flakes were huge and made for a cozy morning.
Something to celebrate!!
I bought a container of sprinkles before the holidays but never got around to using them. After seeing Jessica’s Birthday Cake Pancakes I realized they make a pretty sprinkled topping to my Kodiak cakes this morning : )
I made half a cup of Kodiak cakes and threw in some sprinkles along with a banana into the batter. Along with nature’s sprinkles: chia seeds. Plus more for topping, homemade crunchy peanut butter and coconut.
The snow certainly makes a beautiful scene to peer out to from my computer!
Stacy @ Every Little Thing says
I <3 sprinkles but never thought about pancakes…yum!
Have fun with the snow! Hope it doesn't get too icy.
Plus, sprinkles make everything delicious 🙂

You make your Kodiak cakes just so gorgeous! I think I’m going to have pancakes for lunch now 🙂
Angie @ Musings of a Violet Monkey says
Love the snow! I’m staring out the window at a bunch of dead leaves on the ground and muddy grass. Still. Wish we would get some more winter weather!
Breakfast looks great! I just finished up my OIAJ (in my homemade pb jar) with nature’s sprinkles!
Freya (Brit Chick Runs) says
SOO pretty! Snow and pancakes 🙂 I can’t stand sprinkles to eat though – they look good, but that horrible crunchy thing they have turns me :s
Jessica @ How Sweet It Is says
Yesterday I was still so enthralled with the cake pancakes that I added sprinkles to my wheat pancakes just for effect! Sprinkles are just so fun.

Glad to see you’re still so excited by snow; I think if I saw any I would crawl back in to bed
Angela @ Eat Spin Run Repeat says
Kodiak cakes are great, but with sprinkles?!? Even better! I used to love them as a kid and haven’t had them in ages. Unfortunately snow isn’t as exciting here because it’s been snowing pretty much every single day but I hope you are enjoying it! 🙂 Have a great Friday Kath!
What a festive breakfast! I am totally making the cake pancakes with sprinkles this weekend. I haven’t had in pancakes in such a long time! I have had enough snow for now. We got 16 inches! We are supposed to get more on Tuesday. I’ve had enough. 🙂

Awesome way to celebrate surprise snow!
I am such a little kid inside — I get super excited whenever it snows. My perfect day includes a big snow storm, no school (I’m a teacher), having my husband home and cooking and baking all day. Oh, the magic a bit of snow brings. Enjoy the white outside and the colorful pancakes!
Lily's Health Pad says
There’s nothing like pancakes on a snowy day. Plus, how can you beat sprinkles??

Love the idea of birthday cake pancakes!! I should have put that on my pancake post today 🙂
I was making pancakes (in the microwave though, suuuper classy…) with those same dot sprinkles like every night after christmas cookie baking season, until they ran out that is. Those sprinkles are the best because they keep their CRUNCH!
What a breakfast party!!

Not to revert back to a sore subject, BUT the Great Harvest in Lansing, MI doesn’t put onions on their sandwiches either! So you aren’t the only GH to not have oniony air!
PS – I’m going to my first GH tomorrow in Grand Rapids, MI and I’m SUPER pumped!
Haha. Sore subject for sure! But good to know!!

I agree. I’m in the DC area; but, the snow this morning has been fluffy and powdery and beautiful. (Odd that I would describe a good doughnut in the same way?)
You should be glad you only get only an inch of snow where you live…it’s snowed over a foot at least 4 times this year in New England, not fun!
