Spring Chased By Snow

It is an absolutely GORGEOUS day out there! I can’t believe I am chasing a snow storm…..

IMG_9249-2Blog

Fun times at the bakery! I worked for a few hours after our meeting. Helped lots of customers. Bagged breads. Ate strawberry cream cheese frosting…

IMG_9247-2Blog

Other highlights today in addition to our regular line of healthy whole grain products where cinnamon swirl

IMG_9248-2Blog

And these cinnamon buns!

IMG_9250-2Blog

Made from scratch and selling fast!

For lunch I had a half ham sandwich. I rarely [if ever?] eat our deli meats since we have so many great pescatarian options, but I am on a pork craving kick this week (hence the BBQ yesterday) and decided on a ham + cheese.

IMG_9254-2Blog

Pregnancy women request all the time that we steam the deli meat first which should take care of any scary bacteria. Turned it into a hot ham and cheese!

IMG_9255-2Blog

On the side – one pikal and a side of BBQ chips shared with Karen and Matt. BBQ kick totally!

IMG_9256-2Blog

Yesterday my stomach grew an inch horizontally. In ONE day I noticed a huge difference from morning to night! I don’t think it was just ice cream either because it’s firm under there and poking out. My torso is also extremely THICK!

Packing time!

    Hi Kath!

I’ve been following your blog for about a month now and just wanted to say how much I admire your dedication – especially when it comes to posting pictures! I recently started a blog of my own and pictures/editing feel like such a hassle each time… I much prefer writing 🙂 Anyways, congrats on such an exciting time in your life! I can’t wait to see pics once the baby is born!

You definitely have the pregnancy glow! I remember the tight poking out belly feeling, just wait until he or she really is poking you! I had occasional cravings for deli meat and heated it up first, plus hot ham and cheese (or grilled or toasted on GH bread of course) is definitely better than cold. Does pink frosting mean that maybe it’s a girl? Just an early prediction and idea for shower food.

You’re best bet will be to talk to our staff so they can tell you exactly what we have that day. Dakota, Honey, High Five, Cville Crunch, Whole Grain Goodness, Cinnamon Raisin Walnut, Very Berry <--- they should all be dairy free (but double check!) Obviously the cheesy breads are not. Most of our sweets have eggs and/or butter, but I think some might not have butter.

I’m jealous that you have all of those amazing sandwich ingredients at your fingertips all the time. I desperately want to try the tofu and curried tuna sandwiches.

By the way, I enjoyed a big pile of roasted kale chips doused in ketchup with dinner tonight. I would never have thought to add ketchup, but it really is the perfect combination!

My daughter and I went to our Great Harvest today. No where near as appealing. I tasted the Irish Soda which was amazing, bought the Woodstock, which was good, not amazing and of course a loaf of cinnamon swirl! If all GH use the same cinnamon swirl recipe, my daughters friends mom developed that recipe for her company Montana Mills which was bought by Krispy Kreme and somehow the recipes may have been sold to GH! I like your loaves. Ours are round which I find to be a pain!
