Soup Or Salad?

What would you do with these greens?

IMG_1686

I turned them into a soup….mixed with half a banana, 1 cup of milk, Vega Vanilla Chai and ice.

IMG_1693

I don’t think I like the Vega Vanilla Chai as much anymore. It was TOO SWEET! I couldn’t really taste the greens though – just a bright lettuce flavor if I looked for it with my brain.

IMG_1688

Sunken below was some granola and a drizzle of coconut butter!

IMG_1694

On the side – hard boiled egg

IMG_1690

And a bunch of cherries Kanz surprised me with at lunchtime!

IMG_1689

This left me stuffed!

IMG_1687

As much as I love Pumpkin, she is driving me a bit nuts with her meowing. I think she really misses her owners because she meows at our porch doors (and now our back door) all.day.long. I can’t bear not to let her on the porch but I’d really prefer if she remained an outdoor cat…

IMG_1695

Afternoon awaits!

Are you using the Vega One vanilla chai, or the older version (Whole Food Health Optimizer vanilla chai)? I managed to find some on-sale Whole Food Health Optimizer tubs before they discontinued them and replaced them with Vega One, and I too find that Vega One is a whole lot sweeter. It might not just be your pregnancy tastebuds!:)

This is the newer kind (Vega One) so yeah, it’s too sweet ;(

I think even the Whole Foods Optimizer one is too sweet…I cannot imagine it being sweeter than that. I’ve wondered why Vega doesn’t make a completely unsweetened version specifically for people that are adding to smoothies that are already sweetened with fruit naturally.

I’d be discouraging the cat to be on my property. If it’s vocal, the last thing you will want is to have a sleeping baby, enjoying a nap on the porch, woken by a cat! Don’t be afraid to use the ‘ol squirt bottle with water trick. The cat will get the message soon enough.

I like the Vega Vanilla Chai! I don’t use it in a soup though – I like to blend it with chilled coffee in the morning for a frappuccino. I guess the coffee cuts the sweetness for me?

Just tell yourself that you are ensuring your husband’s health by not letting the cat onto your porch. Didn’t you say Matt is allergic to cats? I am highly allergic to them. I cannot even sit on my new next door neighbor’s screen porch without my eyes swelling and itching—because her cat sits out there sometimes!

cats are excellent learners. they learn to read people quickly and manipulate people very well with their actions. if the cat knows you will let it in, they will continue to come back. if you give it the cold shoulder for long enough the cat will get the picture. why bother to come around if it’s no fun. but if you dont want the cat around as much there is not much you can do. there is no middle ground either you say come on over whenever you’d like or you create the environment of sorry buddy no business here.

I’m obsessed with hard-boiled eggs lately.

I don’t get outdoor cats and I think they’re kind of rude, frankly. My neighbors have three (!) and they’re always peeing and pooping in our yard and walking in front of our windows, irritating my nice, indoor cats. Grr.

We have a “pumpkin” next door. Initially we thought she was a stray; then we learned that she belonged to a neighbor. Same behavior. Obsessed with coming into our house and meowing at our porch door. Ignoring her for a while seemed to discourage her. She still comes by, but seems less “crazy”. We still love her! I’m allergic, so I look forward to seeing her occasionally.
