Mornin’!

I can’t think of a worse way to start a de-stressing yoga session than to find out your INTERNET is back out. UGH! It took me about 10 minutes to get my mind immersed in my 45 minute Yoga For Runners class. Thankfully the internet is back. And my legs are all stretched out! My foot  hasn’t felt this normal after a long run yet. I’m encouraged! My legs are super exhausted though, so they’ll appreciate the day to rejuvenate.

We had a technician come out to repair our internet yesterday. He said there was a ton of “radio interference” on our Uverse main line into the house. He put a filter on our modem and said that should help and that he would put a ticket in to have the main line filtered as well. This morning it was out again! I opened up a support chat with AT&T to let them know and hopefully they got the message to rush that main line repair. This is really becoming a nuisance! [ <– linking over to hope they hear this post loud and clear!]

Mondays are fundays because Matt is home and helps me with breakfast! It’s so nice to have someone cook and put away the dishes 🙂 Those extra 20 minutes are so valuable – like for contacting AT&T support!

IMG_8595 (640x427)

He made classic whipped banana oatmeal complete with chia seeds (see below!!) and a whole ripe banana that we brought home from our hotel stay. He forgot the cottage cheese that I had requested, so I ended up microwaving it separately for 26 seconds and then stirring it into the oats. It was really delicious that way! The curds + whey did separate some but the cottage cheese got all stringy like melted cheese and the flavor was even more pronounced in my bowl (probably because I used a full 1/3 a cup just for me). Organic Valley 2% CC is by far the best I’ve ever had. I think this brand is really on to something – all of their products I’ve had of theirs really do taste better than conventional dairy products. They must have happy cows 🙂

The Mix

(for ONE!)

  • 1/3 cup oats
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/2 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1/3 cup cottage cheese, mixed in at end
  • The LAST of my Crofter’s North American 😥
  • Justin’s Maple Almond Butter
  • Galaxy Granola

IMG_8603 (640x427)

Blah photography today!! But my coffee tasted amazing!!! Must be the contrast from hotel coffee 😉

Oatmeal Seed Extravaganza!

Tina and I have arranged an oatmeal seed extravaganza groupshop with Open Sky where both chia seeds and flax seeds are 30% thru midnight on Tuesday! If you’ve been meaning to stock up, they’re $13 for half a pound of chia and a pound of flax – both organic. Now’s your chance. [Takeachance takeachance takeachance <– can’t help singing that song!] There are only 20 KERF bundles available and 20 for Carrots n Cake, so if one runs out go snag the other 😉

Chia (1) Flax (1)

Here’s the chia video if you’re interested 🙂

I have yet to try mixing cottage cheese into oatmeal, although I have stirred in some greek yogurt right after I turn off the burner under the pot I’m cooking in, and I love the fluffiness the dairy adds to the oatmeal 🙂 Thanks to you (and a few other bloggers) my husband and I are totally addicted to oatmeal !

I haven’t had cottage cheese in about two years or so and just this past weekend I picked up some Organic Valley 2% small curd to try it. I was actually pretty pleased despite that they still use a few gums and what not in their product. I guess I don’t like cottage cheese as much as I used to when I was younger but I did finally try them in my oats!! It was rather great and the consistency was nice and chewy / creamy at the same time. I’ll try for 1/4 cup instead of 2 tbsp next time and see if it makes a difference 😀

    Nice chia video too 😉

I’ll preface by saying that I’m a longtime reader. I must say that I’m among the growing contingent of readers who are tiring of the constant barrage of Open Sky posts here and on Tina’s blog. It seems like a way for bloggers to make a buck and get more stuff for free. I would much rather have your Open Sky posts on a separate page–they’re beginning to be quite intrusive. There comes a point in every blogger’s ascension when he or she must ask: Am I a writer or a salesperson?

Mirae…Just skip through the parts that mention Open Sky. From what I see, it is not too much and when it is specifically mentioned, a terrific offer is made. Most comments reflect glad to have received. Other items listed on Kath’s blog are a link–just don’t click it. Information provided in the descriptions is useful to some. With such a spectacular blog, it is obvious a lot of time, work and effort goes into it. Most are not independently wealthy–this is the US and the land of opportunity–people do need to make a buck… and most people love to get stuff for free. I know I do. From what I read, Kath is a successful writer…and very much appreciated. Thank you and just enjoy the rest of the art of her blog.

Kath, I wondered if you might be interested in the first part of this programme (only a few min to get through!), its about how the rising awareness in Western cultures about food&ingredients seems to be spawning a great deal of belief among people that they have food intolerances/allergies when they haven’t… oh no! I’ve just given away much of what they say in my premise. Bad Laura ;(

Hi Kath, first time commenter, long time reader… I had to comment about Uverse, if you are too far from the main box you will continue to lose connection and they will keep trying to “fix it”. Uverse is actually new technology and they are selling it before most people can use it successfully. This is from someone in the know 😉 Just thought I would give you the heads up since you keep having problems. We have it and don’t experience problems because the main box is around the corner, but our installer even told us that unless you are within a 2 mile radius you will have issues and a lot of folks are having to send the equipment back because it just doesn’t work. Same for the TV service.
But great blog! I look forward to your posts everyday in my reader!
