Red, White + Gold

GAH!! This always happens. The minute I finish a final exam, turn in a paper…or see the end of my internship in sight.. relaxation on the horizon…..THE BLOG CRASHES. Seriously, there is nothing more stressful to me than technological troubles.

I spent the afternoon chatting with Dreamhost, who took an awfully long time to figure out the problem. Thanks to IAN for his expertise! At least Dreamhost has excellent chatting services for VPS customers 🙂

Lunch at the hospital today was GREAT!!

I had a really nice piece of fish with olives and tomatoes, a pile of sautéed spinach (a big one!!), a delicious (REALLY delicious) pile of roasted herbed eggplant and one of those popover rolls that I love! And a piece of Hershey’s chocolate!

Lunch

I got home from work on time and my plans for a new neighborhood run were averted by rain. Instead I headed to the condo gym! I haven’t formally exercised in …like a week!?!? So unlike me, but as I come to the peak of this huge stressful 6 months, exercise just hasn’t seemed as important. [Plus I have been walking all over the hospital by day and moving in my spare time, so I do feel like I’ve gotten a good bit of exercise in] Matt and I actually just canceled our gym memberships at the Y because I don’t think we’d get our money’s worth in the next month and we have this fun gym to use!

How convenient is it that Karen’s gym is literally 3 doors down. No excuses!! I did 40 minutes on the elliptical and then some weight machines and free weights. It was nice to relax a bit with BH&G magazine!

Matt and I actually just canceled our gym memberships at the Y because I don’t’ think we’d get our money’s worth in the next month.

I wasn’t too hungry from lunch, so I just mixed some Vega sport drink into my water bottle. I’m not really that wild about this stuff at all. It tastes like tea and I don’t really want to taste tea when I work out.

IMG_5998 (640x427)

Once back home across the hall, we had a Great Harvest conference call, more house stuff to take care of, an Open Sky call, lunch to pack. Work. Work. Work!

Thankfully I have a personal chef!

IMG_6002 (640x427)

Note that the Garlic Gold is nearly empty!?

IMG_6001 (640x427)

I don’t know who loves it more! I requested a special coupon for you guys to knock the price off a bit and got a celebratory 4th of July deal: 20% off the Garlic oil and Meyer Lemon Vinaigrette Bundle with the coupon code: RedWhite&Gold. I promise you’ll love this stuff

 this !

IMG_6003 (640x427)

Dinner tonight was a simple tempeh stir-fry

IMG_6004 (640x427)

We crumbled up a log of the 3 grain tempeh with broc, carrots, peppers and lots of soy sauce

IMG_6006 (640x427)

Topped with coconut!! A spin-off of this meal: Meals Are More Fun With Bears.

IMG_6019 (640x427)

IMG_6017 (640x427)

I topped my rice with a little coconut butter!!! Heavenly combo.

IMG_6018 (640x427)

My personal chef helped me with the photography, hairy arms and all

IMG_6020 (640x427)

Had a few bites of cantaloupe for dessert while packing my lunch.

And I’m late for bed!!

Walkin’ around the hospital is plenty of exercise. I remember I even lost a few pounds (totally unintentionally) when I was waitressing a couple years ago because I was just walking…sometimes running…alllllllllllllllllll day long.

Our condo gym is 9 floors down but I am way less motivated to go than when it was a mile away at school. Funny how that happens.

I had computer problems with my blog last week. It is so frustrating I hate it. That gym is actually pretty nice and up to date, hope you get some good use out of it. Enjoy the convenience.

Cam has a gym that is literally five minutes away, but it’s absolutely awful. It’s one of the greatest challenges about being here; guess academics trumps superior sports facilities, or something like that.

So I usually just run outside or go swimming 😉
