Morning!

IMG_3541Blog-2

Slow-going this morning due to being up really late last night – but oatmeal is helping!

IMG_3524Blog

An amazing mix of oat bran and oats, with banana, cottage cheese, topped with Ambrosial granola, coconut, coconut buttah and Naturally Nutty!

Announcing…Recipage

Thanks to genius Casey, husband of Emily, I have a new searchable, printable recipage to debut!!! Casey created the company Recipage for all of us food bloggers with limited recipe pages. Weeks in the making, all of the KERF recipes have been sorted and entered in – which means you can search by keyword, ingredient, type of dish, cooking method or just easy-to-see thumbnails. SUPER EXCITED!!!!!!! The page is easy to build (although it takes a little TLC) and inexpensive for what it does.

image

You can get to the page from my nav bar. The recipes page is the old list format, and recipage is the searchable. Also, check out the sidebar link –>

A recipe: email, tweet, print, see the original post with more photos too!

Kath – I’m a long-time occasional reader of your blog . . . I’m never disappointed when I check in. I felt compelled to leave a comment today as I whipped up my first ever bowl of oatmeal this morning. I’m a pretty healthy eater, but have never been able to get over a gag-reflex with oatmeal. Last night I ran to the store, grabbed old-fashioned oats, brown sugar, raisins, bananas and cottage cheese to give oatmeal a shot for one week. I skipped the chia seeds as the only container on the shelf was over $17. Tried the whipped banana variety this morning . . . the first couple of bites weren’t easy (I’ll admit) but by the end I was actually scraping the bowl. I’m hoping this oatmeal thing “sticks”! Thank you! -Joe

I don’t really have a set workout schedule. I have lighter days and heavier days, weight lifting days, yoga days and cardio days. But I don’t plan in rest days. I inevitably get them on days when I’m traveling, or too busy to exercise, or simply don’t feel like it. And I think my workouts ebb and flow to a nice balance of more and less intense.

Hey, Kath! I love the new recipage… I’m a sucker for searching via categories. It looks awesome, too. So, I have this pesky ‘editor’s eye’ and noticed that in the first line of your Bourbon Balls description there is an error. You say, “My Mom used makes B. balls…” rather than, ” My Mom used to make…” It’s an annoying habit for me; in fact, I’ve been known to correct newspaper errors with a pen. I know, nerd alert! But hopefully, this is helpful for you!!!
