Rain Downfall

FoodBlog2012-07-21 11.04.12

Today the market was full of vegetables, flowers, peaches, raindrops and umbrellas. Sadness when it downpoured in the last hour. At least the first 3/4 was great!

FoodBlog2012-07-21 11.42.36

I headed in to help Matt out today – wearing one of his shirts that actually fit me quite well! It was good in length, but a little big on top.

FoodBlog2012-07-21 11.25.04

I sliced bread, met a few blog readers(!), ran into some friends and then went around to do some of my own shopping as well.

Last pumpkin loaf standing …

FoodBlog2012-07-21 12.06.41

By the time I was ready to walk home, the rain had let up just a bit – and I had about 20 pounds to carry home on my back!

FoodBlog2012-07-21 12.13.19

I’m dealing with some computer issues this morning (uggg throws a wrench in your day!) and didn’t get to eat lunch until 2pm. Thankfully I’d nibbled on some cheese and a taste of bread at the market, so I wasn’t too hungry.

I made a delicious summer salad though – spinach dressed in olive oil, salt and honey, plus some more insta-potato salad (leftover potatoes, greek yogurt, mayo + mustard), 2 fried eggs (that yolk was poked and runny in the pan and I cooked it through), tomatoes from our garden and some Caromont Goat Cheese!

FoodBlogIMG_2331

Two little stone fruits for dessert – peach + plum!

Multitasking on some things this afternoon – and trying to figure out a way to not have a giant ethernet cord going across my basement! I JUST moved my office space back down and my wifi card goes bad!

I love the saying on that shirt. And the Farmer’s Market! Nothing tops eggs on eggs on eggs.

I love, love, love stone fruits in the summertime 🙂 That little peach and plum look so adorable! Our farmer’s market totally shuts down when it rains, it’s nice to see that yours doesn’t!

Summer salads topped with fried eggs have been one of my go-tos lately. I absolutely LOVE it!

Boo on the computer issues. Good luck!

Great tee shirt! Such a shame when outdoor activities get rained on! Hope you have indoor plans for the evening.

Do you find it annoying/repetitive to constantly have to explain your food (runny yolk cooked through sitting at the bar but not drinking ) because you are pregnant?

I always think it’s too bad when it’s raining during the farmers market, but then I remember that’s probably better than the vendors being out there all day in super hot temps!

Love the lunch colors. I was convinced that was a chicken breast on top though and not eggs!

Are you worried about not getting your “stomach back” after the pregnancy? I know most moms lose all the weight but have a hard time getting back to a taut tummy I guess with stretching and all. Then again…I’m not a mom and my tummy ain’t taut either!

Welcome!! The plates are a custom set my mother in law got in South Carolina, but there are similar ones all around at stores like Bed, Bath and Beyond. The bowls are all Pottery Barn’s Great White Collection.
