Precipitation

The South is up in arms – it’s sleeting!!! And we might get some snow later!

IMG_1345 (640x427)

IMG_1346 (640x427)

I think the wintery weather made my brain sleep too long – I didn’t get up until 8:30!?!!?!

Came down to warm up

IMG_1349 (640x427)

IMG_1350 (640x427)

Whipped up some oats…

IMG_1354 (640x427)

  • 1/4 cup Scottish oatmeal, 1/2 cup water, 1/4 cup milk
  • Half UNRIPE banana = blech
  • Cinnamon, vanilla, Chia seeds
  • 2 tbsp cooked wheatberries
  • Deb‘s homemade Pecan Butter, nestled down in
  • Last 1/4 of Great Harvest gingerbread muffin

Sadly, this bowl of oatmeal was not good!! I think the underripe banana made it taste too starchy or something. And the wheatberries dried it out. I will do better tomorrow!

IMG_1360 (640x427)

Looks a bit like a Hersey’s kiss!

IMG_1353 (640x427)

IMG_1352 (640x427)

YOU ARE NOT WELCOME HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IMG_1351 (640x427)

^^ That baby roach is now paralyzed under a cup 🙁

Listening to some Ray Conniff while I get some work done, then hitting the gym before it closes down for a winter storm warning!

Ahh! Bring back the blue skies. Sunshine + cold is better than gray/sleet-y any day. The gingerbread oats look great. Seems like you found a new favorite. 😉

I know what you mean – an underripe banana can really spoil a good bowl of oats!! They get all dry and yucky. Sometimes I find it hard to leave the banana out even when I know it’s not ripe enough yet but that is always a bad idea. Hopefully your delicious oats are back tomorrow :O).

That’s so funny the gym closes for a winter storm! Here in Chicago, they don’t close down anything unless it’s the apocalypse! Ah, to live in a warm climate would be so nice!

We to have those damn bugs in our house it drives me insane.. I bought a handvac so I could suck them up rather than having cups all over the house.. lol

I’m keeping my fingers crossed for snow too! Charlotte and Gastonia close EVERYTHING down at the slightest drop of snow, so good idea getting to the gym before that happens 🙂 Have a good, hopefully snowy, day!

Ahh!! Just seeing that roach makes me cringe. When we lived in an apartment downtown we had a MAJOR roach problem. My first interaction with one is when it fell on my face when. I. was. sleeping. I screamed bloody murder and spent the rest of the night with hubby’s arms over my face and the lights on until I could finally fall back asleep.
    *shudder*

Bummer on the startchy banana…it can ruin a good yogurt bowl too! It’s funny because I have only lived in two weather extremes….in upstate NY they don’t close anything no matter how hard it’s snowing (well ONCE they did when it was really really bad, in the 3 years I was there) and in San Diego, we freak out when it drizzles. It seems like the south is nice because you get seasons but it doesn’t get TOO cold, for too long.
