Powah Lunch

Hi!

this !

Mondays always seem to move a mile a minute. This one is no exception! Some bakery stuff is flying onto the to-do list, and Matt and I had our weekly business lunch with Karen.

First, I biked to the gym and squeezed in Body Pump. I increased my weight again because…why not!?

I put THREE mediums on each side for a lot of the moves – and I sure am feelin’ it now!! Powah of the muscles.

Then I showered at the gym again (much more difficult than it sounds to type! Imagine the packing and unpacking it involves 🙂 ) But for a good reason – I met Matt and Karen downtown for lunch.

IMG_4109Blog

We went to Café Cubano where I got this tasty but measly lunch.

IMG_4108Blog

Half a sandwich – smoked salmon, tomatoes and cream cheese.

IMG_4105Blog

I asked them to hold the red onions, but I could tell they put them ON and then took them back OFF because I could taste them!! Not pleasant. Glad I’m not severely allergic!

IMG_4106Blog

The side salad left much to be desired 🙁 A handful of lettuce does not fill up an appetite!

IMG_4107Blog

However, since this was an earlier lunch than I normally eat, I wasn’t too hungry and didn’t mind the smaller portions.

IMG_4104Blog

After lunch I poked into a few boutiques looking for a birthday gift for my mom. Boy are boutiques expensive! I didn’t find what I was looking for.

–> Enter a bike ride home with a full bladder! <–

I came home to a bouquet of flowers!

IMG_4119Blog

Yesterday Faith and Tate gave us this broken-off door. I had a vision!

IMG_4038Blog-2

A little sawing [luckily our rented garage came with a power saw!]

IMG_4072Blog-2

A lot of painting

IMG_4076Blog

Turned into a nice chalkboard for our entry way! I have 3 more pieces to play with elsewhere in the house (or bakery!)

IMG_4116Blog

The design is Matt’s handiwork. He’s an excellent artist!

IMG_4118Blog

Very very excited about the nearly-free project!

And now – some hot tea needs to be consumed on this cloudy, colder day.

I have a hard time getting measly or bad meals.

Especially when I choose to spend my money at a smaller local business instead of say a Fridays or Applebees.

Recently, I went to local mexican place and got such bad food and service!! I was so angry I ended up making a mess of the table . . . I need to let it go 😉

How innovative with that chalk board!!

One time I ordered a spinach salad with feta cheese, tomato and cucumber, and when they brought it out with a huge plate of spinach with a ONE small bite of feta cheese in the center! It cost me about $10 too! I haven’t gone back since.
