Positively Tired!

Today has been such a long day!! I’m so ready for some rest. Matt is actually back at the bakery giving Warrenton + Burke a tour!

Midafternoon forbidden fruit from the Apple Crunch bread stash!

IMG_4151-2Blog

And some Dakota for protein

IMG_4154-2Blog

Then beer for liquid!

IMG_4155-2Blog

We wrapped up closing shop, talking, brainstorming and all kinds of business with Amanda and biked downtown for dinner

IMG_4157-2Blog

We went to Positively 4th Street – a new favorite restaurant! Sarah is the coolest – ask for her!

IMG_4161-2Blog

Soon enough Karen arrived, fashionable and fashionably on time!

IMG_4160-2Blog

And once the sun began to set – Pablo, Lynda, Jeffery and Jeanette! I’m sorry I did not snap a group photo – it was too dark!

And were busy chugging beers and downing this amazing platter of black-eyed pea hummus!! Compliments of P4TH!!

IMG_4164-2Blog

I almost ordered a glass of wine with dinner, but I’m so glad I didn’t. I just sipped a little of Matt’s beer and my water and was perfectly content. And now I’m not dehydrated!

And I focused on my delicious blackened crabcakes!! These were fabulous.

IMG_4168-2Blog

So were the grits underneath!!

IMG_4167-2Blog

BAH the bike ride home was SO HUMID!! It’s that time of year where you step outside and you automatically feel like you’ve walked through a sprinkler. Droplets everywhere!

I’m off to take a cool shower and tuck myself into bed. G’night!

    K,
I took your tamale stuffed pepper idea from last night and ran with it. It turned out great! I made cornbread batter and poured about half of it into the beans/veg (cooked down)/olives/spices then into the blanched pepper cups. Baked, topped with cheese. Really good idea! thanks!

It’s positively soupy here in Clt. I believe the heat index was 107* today, and it’s STILL in the 80’s and muggy as hell, currently. It’s hard to breathe out there! I did the treadmill for 40 mins, nothing too strenuous, in my nice air-conditioned house tonight, and still had to take a cool shower after!

Mmm, black bean hummus sounds yummy!

By the time I arrived home from my commute home all I could think was ‘i need a shower!” this is also the type of weather where when you workout then take a shower you sweat for like an hour afterwards! it’s the worst!

Glad you had a fun night, now go get some much deserved rest! 🙂

After growing up in Atlanta, I liken the southern summer’s humidity to stepping out of the shower already sweating.

I now live in Alaska and I can’t decide if the humidity is worth having the ability to hear a good summer thunderstorm. We definitely don’t gets that here.
