Playing Hooky

Hope I’m spelling that right! Google had many variations.

I almost played hooky from lunch and was going to just buy something at the hospital. But then I got to craving yogurt and thought I’d just pack yogurt and fruit and get a salad at the hospital. But then I remembered I had spinach to use up and avocado and soon enough I had 100% of lunch pack!! Next week I’m going to give myself and break and buy lunch. But I’ll wait until we’re low on food!

The Amazing 5 Minute Lunchbox

A packed-in salad of spinach, avocado, zucchini, carrot all drizzled in olive oil, agave and sea salt

A couple of olive Food Should Taste Goods

S-burries

And a Voskos with almonds. I am enjoying these Voskos‘s SO MUCH. The organic plain may be the best greek yogurt I’ve had. It’s sooooo silky. And the flavoreds are good too. I think Siggi’s flavoreds are my favorite because they are so very thick and tart but these are a close second.

IMG_4207 (640x427)

[These are my lunchbox almonds that I nibble off of when I need a few at the end of lunch or mid afternoon as a compliment to a piece of fruit so I’ll steal like 5-7 for my yogurt]

IMG_4206 (640x427)

I’m sure tomorrow I’ll be glad I packed all this great food and saved $10!

I am dying to try some Voskos. But Siggi’s is my favorite and if it isn’t as good as Siggi’s, I guess I don’t need to try. 🙂

Thanks! I’m going to try to pick some up over the weekend. I love miniature things, so a mini spoon would be right up my alley. It would also help me to eat slower, which is something I’m working on! If I don’t control myself, I can literally inhale my dinner. It’s not pretty.

I always love how you have a lot of small snacks for your lunch instead of a heaping bowl of chili. It makes it seem like you have a much bigger meal than you actually are eating.

I’m sure you will be happy. I hate spending $10 on lunch at my office. I generally end up tired after a purchased lunch as well b/c I ussually end up eating too much when I buy it.

I love that feeling of saving an extra $5-10 by just throwing what you have in your cupboards/fridge together in a creative way. I rarely buy lunch, but when I do, I really want to make sure it’s quality and yummy since my homemade lunches are cheap, healthy and delish.

Working in a school, I have to pack my lunch EVERYDAY…otherwise it’s chicken patties or burned pizza! 😉 I’ve learned to accept and embrace the packed lunch…but there are definitely days I’d rather go out and grab a big ‘ol salad!

I couldn’t agree more about the Voskos. I’ve only tried the fig flavored one so far and *loved* it. It’s great with chopped dates, because it adds that “fig newton” chewy touch. 😀

It’s crazy how expensive it is to buy things at work/school. My campus has somw awesome eateries but at some of them it costs over $15 for a small garden salad and fruit. That’s ridiculous. Packing’s always better! You get exactly what you want and save tons of cash 🙂

I always think it’s better to take your own lunch rather than buying something. Not only do you save money you also ensure you eat healthily. My friend at work always buys lunch and then complains that she has no money! I hope work was ok, it’s nearly the weekend!

I hate not sleeping. (just read your previous post) I for sure go through periods of that especially with school. My best trick is switching pillows to the opposite of the bed, it may get a little funny with your husband in the bed, but it works for my boyfriend and I (who is over 6 feet) Or another trick is switching sides of the bed….
