Friendtertaining

The weekend is here!!! I’m trying to forget all the stresses in my life and just focus on having a good time. It’s working!

I arrived home at 4:30 to find Caitlin and Kristien being entertained by Matt!

IMG_4243 (640x427)

I joined them for a nut butter + Great Harvest snack 🙂

IMG_4242 (640x427)

IMG_4241 (640x427)

I love talking to Kristien about traditional Chinese medicine!!! He’s such a wealth of knowledge. We discussed the mild scoliosis I’ve had since middle school and other ailments!

IMG_4244 (640x427)

IMG_4250 (640x427)

No idea what we were doing here!

IMG_4245 (640x427)

IMG_4247 (640x427)

After a few hours of chatting, we headed out for dinner at Brixx, one of our favorite Charlotte restaurants 🙂

Fun friends were ready for friendertaining!

IMG_4253 (640x427)

IMG_4257 (640x427)

I wasn’t really in a beer mood, but I couldn’t turn down the opportunity to taste some brews. Including one from Charlottesville! Star Hill "The Love"

IMG_4263 (640x427)

IMG_4259 (640x427)

I think we wiped them clean of beer sampler boats!

IMG_4267 (640x427)

IMG_4268 (640x427)

IMG_4271 (640x427)

I started with the spinach salad complete with goat cheese and a nice little focaccia puff

IMG_4274 (640x427)

IMG_4277 (640x427)

And for dinner Matt and I splurged on two pizzas. I’ve been craving pizza like mad! We couldn’t decide on a flavor so we just got two and brought some home. Margarita for me, Spicy Shrimp for him. I had 3 total pieces – so gooey delish.

IMG_4280 (640x427)

Later in the evening napkin animals came out from hiding

IMG_4287 (640x427)

IMG_4286 (640x427)

And then we headed to Ben & Jerry’s next door for a treat!

IMG_4288 (640x427)

IMG_4297 (640x427)

IMG_4292 (640x427)

I was pretty full and just wanted A TASTE of ice cream and got the Bonnaroo Buzz – coffee ice cream with toffee and whiskey caramel. SOOOO GOOOOOOD! I got a number of spoons and shared it with others. Probably ate 1/3 of it? It was a good strategy to get a taste without overfilling my stomach.

IMG_4296 (640x427)

Girls just wanna have fun

Caitlin, Me, Caitlin, Diana, Michelle, Kate

IMG_4300 (640x427)

Tomorrow the whole crew is coming over for a big cookout at our place. A "Changing of the Guards" party if you will 🙂 KERF out, HTP in!

Check out our bread stash!

SO EXCITED FOR SLEEP!

I like your ice cream strategy! Very smart way to indulge without making yourself sick. Also, all those pizza pics make me want pizza like mad. I can never get my homemade pizzas to come out like they do at restaurants!

Such a sad coincidence you’re leaving just as Caitlin moves in, but I’m sure you’ll both love your new places! Pizza Margherita is hands down my all-time favorite kind, yours looks mouthwatering- I’d never have been able to stop at just three pieces! I guess having leftovers for the next day would be a good incentive though 🙂 Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Hey Kath I just had a quick nutrition question. I have never tried Ben & Jerry’s because I know it’s quite notorious for having high amounts of fat & some artificial ingredients, but I was wondering what’s your take on that? I have a big sweet tooth so I love ice cream but tend to stay with the lighter options. 🙂
