Playin’ Taps

Day is done, gone the sun

this !

We turned in our restaurant layouts today and had our last Clinical lecture (heart failure, renal failure). We got out of Foodservice with an hour to spare and Kelsey was up for an adventure, so we headed over to EarthFare – and ended up getting some sushi for dinner!

IMG_4989 (1024x768)

We split two packages. The first with these DA-licious veggie, avocado + shrimp spring rolls in a chile sauce.

IMG_4988 (1024x768)

And the second – sub-par spicy tuna.

IMG_4990 (1024x768)

I had so many food options today. I ate my yogurt, fruit + cereal mixture as a late part to lunch around 2:30 (THEN I was full!). And I traded in my banana + Clif bar for the sushi, which I ate around 6:30. It didn’t totally fill me up, and when I got home I had the last PB saltine sandwich leftover from our presentation and a cup of tea and now I feel content.

Kelsey put up the recipe for the super delish black bean veggie dip!

Then goodnight, peaceful night;
Till the light of the dawn shineth bright.

Sarah’s a little ball of sass, is she not? 😉

Sushi from a store is always a little sub-par in my opinion, especially once you’ve tried the good stuff that’s prepared right in front of you! However, your lunch totally made up for it.

    Have a great Thursday, Kath!

Hey Kath-being a cereal over, you may want to check out this months edition of “Nutrition Action Newsletter” they do a review of cereals. Many of the Nature’s Path varities earn the “best bites” symbol.

On a separate topic, you have mentioned that you gained a few lbs., I may have missed it so excuse me, but do you have an action plan? Those pesky few pounds are sometimes annoying, believe me!!

    Cindy,
I am working on Keeping It Simple (https://www.katheats.com/keep-it-simple/) and going back to some of the “rules” I used to follow – choosing between dessert or wine rather than having both all the time, cutting back on bites + nibbles, keeping up exercise (which is easy with this gorgeous weather!).

The bean dip looks yummy. I’ve never had raw zucchini though. I don’t know if it can beat your broccoli dip — I’m seriously addicted to that (though I put in a lot of broccoli and an entire avocado and LOTS of hot sauce).
