Pick Me Up

Espresso…egg… lady fingers…cheese – sounds like breakfast to me!

IMG_9281Blog

Last night Francesca told us that Tiramisu translates to ‘pick me up’ or ‘carry me up’ – sometimes with a sexual connotation ifyouknowhatimean! The espresso (which thankfully did not interrupt my sleep) is supposed to give a nice energy boost after a meal.

IMG_9280Blog

How ‘bout a little pick me up in the AM!

IMG_9285Blog

I made an oatmeal base for two –

  • 1/4 cup Scottish oats
  • 1/4 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • Handful of strawberries (NO BANANA!! Didn’t want it to interfere!)
  • 1 tiny slice of tiramisu, stirred in at end for flava’

And on top – a sinking slice with coconut butter!

IMG_9278Blog

This was INCREDIBLE!! The mascarpone melted out of the sides and onto the oats, making for one decadent breakfast!

IMG_9286Blog

Served with a bit more ‘joe

We finally have a lazy morning. Nothing planned other than a mid-morning run, and then I have an event to attend with some friends this afternoon!

Oh man that is one amazing breakfast! Does the tiramisu have chocolate covered espresso beans on top?? Those are my favorite!

And since it has espresso in it, it’s perfectly acceptable breakfast food 😉

Have an awesomely relaxing Sunday 🙂
