Peanut Butter Sunrise

I stayed up late last night playing. I found a way to sync GCal and have determined that Google Tasks rock (well, not quite rock, but I’m pleased).

I got really hungry around 11 (stayed up till midnight) and had a small bowl of AgavePlus granola and Special K mixed with soymilk

IMG_6411 (1024x768)

Today’s breakfast needed to be lighter since I have to go running by 10:30 to get in a noontime meeting. So I made a smoothie –

IMG_6413 (1024x768)

  • 1/3 cup raw rolled oats
  • 2/3 cup soy milk
  • 1 small banana
  • 2 tbsp PB2
  • ~8 ice cubes

IMG_6416 (1024x768)

The PB2 was totally awesome with PB flavor!

IMG_6415 (1024x768)

I continued the PB theme with a small piece of Flax Oat Bran with some Naturally More

Sadly, it looks like our furry animals have passed away. They look like they are taking naps, but I’m pretty sure they are permanently sleeping 🙁 I don’t think they were mice – my parents have mice in their old house and these guys looked different. I’ll have to have Matt bury them this afternoon.

Kelsey is coming for lunch!!

=( Sorry to hear about the little buddies. At least they probobly went peacefully – here at my house they would have been ambushed by cats!

Smoothie looks awesome! I need to try out PB2 as well, although I highly doubt anything could top good ole’ fresh ground peanut butter. I’m actually enjoying a smoothie right now myself.

Combo: 2 oz. strawberries, 1 oz. bluberries, 1 oz. sliced RIPE banana, 1/4 cup Naked Juice Red Machine juice, 2 tsp creamy almond butter, 2 tbsp plain yogurt, 1/2 cup of unsalted cottage cheese, and a few cups of ice. Mmm…

I love getting more and more whole-food ingredients to start every single day!

I had a VERY peanut butter-centric dinner last night – 2% fage mixed with Tbs PB2, 1/2 cup frozen berries, Nature’s Path peanut butter granola, and then a big scoop of regular peanut butter. Yum!

Your furry friends look like Voles to me. Kind of a mixture between a mouse and a mole, and they burrow in your lawn. You should google them. If you look closely at your lawn do you see any little holes and trail systems between them?

I think it is so interesting that you put oats in your smoothies! Does it thicken the smoothie, or add to the texture, or do they just disappear?

Mindy, I’m probably the least-prissy person I know. I would have been the one to take those babies in the house and nurse them back to health…no matter what kind of animal they were. I just think it’s rude of people to say things like “Oh my God Kath, that’s totally gross, they’re probably all in the walls of your house.” Good grief. They were in her garage and last time I checked all garages open to the outdoors.

Everyone I know who owns an iPhone absolutely loves it.
I’m so amazed that this one gadget alone can be so universally appealing to so many.

Yet, I’m still holding back. I’ll probably one day end up with my husband’s hand me down internet phones (he has a Google phone and iPhone), but for now, I’m happy in my own sheltered low-tech world.

PB2 works great in smoothies. They changed their recipe, it used to be WAY more like gritty, like natural PB. Now it’s smooth and weird.

Aww, those poor babies 🙁 RIP

Hi Kath, I have just ordered PB2 and I am not sure exactly how to use it. When you put it in your smoothie, do you put it in as a powder or mix it with water and then add it. Thanks! Elizabeth

    Re. Oats in Smoothies,
I just put in raw old fashioned oats whole. They don’t thicken it that much, but they do impart a nice doughy taste, especially if you let it sit overnight.

    Casey ,
I would use RTM, but I HATE the colors!!!

    Jennifer ,
The oats def. help keep me full. I like to bulk up smoothies so they are thick and/or huge. I agree on just fruit and milk not being enough for me.

    elizabeth ,
Just dump that powder whereever you feel like it!!
