Party Prep

I’m having fun prepping the house for tonight’s party. I’ve dusted off candles and retrieved some of my grandmother’s entertaining heirlooms from the attic. I’m so glad we finally have friends to entertain. I think there’s nothing more that the husband and I like to do together than

1) Entertain

2) Wine taste

Wheeee!

I headed out for a workout around 11:30 via bike. It’s rather dreary out there, but it kind of suites the mood. At the gym I did 20 minutes on the ET while I waited for the Stairmasters to open up. Then I did 26 minutes there. After a quick bike ride home, I whipped up some lunch.

I am walking to the grocery store in a bit for a few last minute items. Then let the celebrations begin!

I know this is going to make me sound crazy, but this morning I had peanut butter with oatmeal for the first time. I’ve been addicted to making banana oat pancakes (which I do top with peanut butter!) for so long that it’s been forever since I’ve made some stovetop oats. Well, today was the day and I don’t think I’ll ever be able to eat oatmeal with out PB again! YUM!

This might be a stupid question, but I’m curious to know about your workouts. Is there any reason why you don’t do even blocks of time on the machines, say, 30 min instead of 28? Is it because you get bored, are counting calories etc.
Enjoy your party! It sounds like it’s going to be a blast:)

    jenna ,
    Wish you were here!!

    Ash ,
    Another convert!

    Meg,
No reason at all. I usually do do 30 minutes or 45, depending on the machine, but today of course I had to pick lucky #26 as the time of choice.

I read this tip recently from a model who spends alot of time in heels. I thought this was applicable to the party theme….in case you are wearing heels tonight. Do legs up the wall before putting heels on to get the blood out of your feet. If you have never done this you scoot as close to the wall as possible then swing your legs up and rest them on the wall. Do this until your toes tingle intensely, then come down. Usually 5-10 minutes. Repeat this again after taking heels off. It helps the swollen, painful feet problem. Just a tip I wanted to share. I am going to a birthday party tonight! For someone turning 22 on the 28th! Definitely not as fun as 26 on the 26th!
