Pack Rat

I’m getting organized! All packed with minimal toiletries and clothing in a single duffle bag. Talk to my sister about our plans, made a date with Tina + Mal, continue to count the RSVPs for the blog meet-up, got excited to visit Harpoon!!

At 11 I went to the gym – I was frazzled with energy and practically shaking. Not sure if it was the caffeine in that huge cup of coffee or the sugar in breakfast, but it was too much! My workout helped me get some of it out. I did an extremely sweaty and hard 30 minutes on the Stairmaster followed by some ab work and to and from bike rides.

At 1PM I was hungry for lunch but still full from breakfast! That bowl held me over for ages. Do you ever get that? Where you feel like your stomach still has breakfast in it but hunger is rapidly creeping up behind it?

I used up with I could from the fridge for lunch –

IMG_9138 (1024x768)

Laughing Cow + Green Pepper + Mustard on Great Harvest Dakota bread –

IMG_9135 (1024x768)

Some veggies with Naturally Nutty Chocolate Butter Toffee peanut butter

IMG_9132 (1024x768)

Oikos with rhubarb ginger jam (still LOVING this jam!!!) and sliced almonds

IMG_9131 (1024x768)

And a plum that I didn’t get to because I was full and am saving for a snack

IMG_9133 (1024x768)

IMG_9130 (1024x768)

Do you know how long ā€œpaint my toenailsā€ has been on my list again!? It’s so easy to put off but my toes are starting to get embarrassed of their nakedness.

And I think summer humidity just came back from a 2 week vacation….

See you for a late last supper!

Does all of the liquid keep you full? I just had leftover roasted red pepper soup and am sloshing, (is that a word?). I feel as though I am on the high seas!

Manicure/Pedicure is on my weekend to-do list! One great thing about living in NYC is that you can get them both done for $20-25! Great deal.

I never get around to painting my toe nails either – I seem to always have to cut them down to nubbins for running all the time so polishing them seems a waste. I very rarely paint them – only for special events! I don’t have the time to maintain them so I figure sans polish looks better then chipped to death polish!

I am so jealous that you get to go to Harpoon! I went to grad school in Vermont and they have a secondary brewery there. We used to go fill up our growlers and then take the beer back to enjoy at home for our bbqs & dinners together with friends.

I recommend the UFO and my favorite, the Munich Dark. Unfortunately you won’t get to enjoy the winter seasonal, Winter Warmer because that is by far my absolute favorite. We can’t get it here in Iowa because they don’t ship out here. I’ve even tried to have the specialty stores order it.

Enjoy!! Have a few sips for me! šŸ™‚

I’m glad to see that you enjoy the Laughing Cow / mustard combo on sandwiches. I love it, but my husband just looks at me funny every time I make something with that pairing. Don’t knock it ’til you try it, right?

Sounds like the meetup will be a blast. Can’t wait to see pictures!

I totally get the hunger thing. I feel physically full still but somehow my mind (and part of my belly) are starting to cry out for more food! Crazy.

I visited Harpoon two weeks ago! It was great fun. My hubby and I and his best friend went on a brewery tour of the Northeast, including Harpoon, Sam Adams, Allagash, Smuttynose in NH (which I highly recommend, even if you can’t go on a tour day the people there are so nice and know so much about beer, and the tasting is free and delicious!), Magic Hat, and Unibroue in Montreal!
Hope you have a great time!
