Orange Sunrise

IMG_4421Blog

Check out that sunshine behind my breakfast! I picked up a single serving carton of OJ right after we got back from Jamaica and totally forgot about it. This morning I had a glass – so delicious! OJ just screams “it’s morning!”

IMG_4425Blog

With it – yogurt with wheat waffles, banana, chia seeds and sunbutter

IMG_4422Blog

Yogurt underneath!

IMG_4424Blog

Have a sunny Monday!

It is surprisingly here in Dublin today. Wasn’t so much this morning but it’s brightened up wonderful and the temperatures risen with it…I’ll be wearing a couple of lighter layers for my run this evening!

orange juice is so comforting with breakfast… brings me back to early mornings as a kid. my favorite was the real, fresh squeezed stuff when we would visit my grandma in florida. nothing better 🙂

Picked up the sunflower seed butter from TJ’s and just wanted to let you know that I love it (and all the antioxidants – so much better for you than Peanut Butter!). BTW – I have to play catch-up and go back and read some of your older posts since I just got back from Jamaica, but I was dying to know where you stayed… not sure if you mentioned it in another post, so I’ll check, but would love to know how you liked it. We stayed at Sandals Grande Riviera in Ochos Rios and while it was lovely, I wasn’t impressed with the food.

I really like orange juice, but the fact that it’s normally drunk so close to teeth-brushing time puts me off. I don’t think the orange flavor is enhanced by mint!

I have to have OJ every morning with breakfast or I seriously become a grump. I do half OJ/half water so it’s not so sweet and chug that first thing every day. Our freezer is literally half full with OJ containers because I buy like 6 at a time when they go on sale!

I saw the wheat waffles at Whole Foods yesterday and contemplated them for a moment… but said no because my pantry does not need more cereal right now. And the serving size 3/4 cup? Really? 🙂
I was on an OJ kick when I first got my juicer, but got lazy because it’s such a pain to clean. I wonder if you can make it easier in the Vitamix…

My boys are in heaven…although their allergies and asthma are back in high gear…their also back on antihistamines and puffers…they are not complaining! Looking forward to a long walk this afternoon to tire this puppy out!

Sometimes just a simple bowl of cereal and a glass of orange juice is all you need to start an awesome day. After so many mornings of standing over the stove waiting for oats to boil or pancakes to start bubbling, it’s nice to just pour stuff in a bowl and eat it right then and there, don’t ya think? I hope you continue having nice weather out there. It’s dreary and cold here. Woohoo for the Pacific Northwest. Any good soup recipes you could throw my way would be greatly appreciated 🙂

    That breakfast looks delicious.

I stopped eating breakfast when I got depressed a couple of years ago, and piled on a lot of weight. Now I’m back to eating it (my usual is a top quality muesli with some soy milk, and a piece of fruit for after if I’m still hungry), and feel a lot more energised.

I’m starting to understand how important breakfast is.
