Ode To The Dining Room

Oh the many years we have spent in our lovely dining room. It is perhaps my favorite room in this house!

Thanksgiving 2007

Thanksgivign 07

Thanksgiving 072

Thanksgiving 2008

Thanksgiving082

Thanksgiving 08

Thanksgiving 2009

TG2009

Thanksgiving10

It even used to have wallpaper and a gold chandelier!

Before Before1

[Paint color = Lowes La Fonda Olive, dining room furniture all from Crate + Barrel!]

And it’s served COUNTLESS bowls of oatmeal on this blog!!

And now it’s all packed up.

Sadness

IMG_5644 (640x427)

Hopefully our next dining room will be just as pleasant!

Today’s lunchbox pays a tribute

IMG_5652 (640x427)

I mixed up a salad with spinach, broccoli (lightly steamed in the microwave – raw broccoli tastes like an ash tray!), bell pepper and tempeh. All drizzled in Garlic Gold Oil and sea salt.

IMG_5651 (640x427)

Voskos Vanilla Bean. Plain and simple.

IMG_5654 (640x427)

The poor green spoon had to be replaced as I packed the lunch because it whipped out of the lunchbox and ended its little life 🙁

IMG_5681 (640x427)

And a cute little plum.

IMG_5653 (640x427)

IMG_5650 (640x427)

I was going to pack a hunk of bread, but I hear there’s turtle cake coming to our office today and I wanted to save a little room!!!

What’s your favorite room in your house?

Awh that must be really sad to pack everything up!
My favourite room..hmm…probably the kitchen in winter, cos the aga is so warm 😛 but I don’t actually like my house that much…I’m more of an open plan, modern person, and this house is the exact opposite :/
Ohh actualy – my favourite ‘room’ is the yard, cos it has stables where my horse lives!!!
    Have a great afternoon 🙂

A little harsh on raw broccoli there, no? I’m also in a small-ish apartment, so I have three rooms in the running (well, four, if your count the bathroom). It’s a close contest between the kitchen and the front/living room. Right now, the front room wins because it has a ceiling fan!

Well, I don’t really like the apartment I live in now, but I’m moving in a month anyway…so I’ll pick the living room in my parent’s house! It has high vaulted ceilings, huge windows, and a marvelous view overlooking the city, the Great Plains, and the Rocky Mountains. It’s a great place to read, ponder, and enjoy the sunshine!

🙁 poor spoon! There’s been a few spoon deaths lately (a baby pink spoon went to heaven the other day on The Teenage Gourmet)… it’s a little sad. A few white spoons shaped EXACTLY like your green on have “popped up” in our house lately. I wonder if they’re real Crate and Barrel… I’ll have to ask my parents where they got them. I love those spoons – I eat my oatmeal with them and it reminds me of you 😀 It’s a great, sort-of inspirational start to my day.

My favourite room in my house… probably my study, where I do my homework and blog-surf. Oh, and it’s sort of a pig sty at the moment. 😉

I’m so glad I’m not the only one who thinks raw broccoli tastes awful! It’s ok cut really small in a salad – with dressing – but in bigger hunks, nope, yucky.

We have a great view of the open space behind our house and it is where my family always grills and eats dinner in the summertime. After we eat, we sit at the table out there and talk until it gets dark, I love it. Some of my greatest memories are out there. 🙂

My favorite room in my house is my bedroom for sure! With the rest of my house being so small, it’s hard to find a place to be alone in the rest of my house. My room is the perfect size for just me, and my bed is a comfy, squishy, queen size that fits perfectly into a little nook, surrounded on 3 sides by wall. I swear, I do everything in my room…eat, sleep, work, etc…even though I hear it’s not good to do work in the place where you rest as it doesn’t promote good sleep habits.
