You are here: Home / Weekend / No Eating In The Library!

March 30, 2009

No Eating In The Library!

Whoooo hoooo!! Biochem test O.V.E.R. :rock1:It went well enough. It was one of those “stretch your brain and apply what you know” type tests, so I really have no idea how I did.

Then Food Science was cancelled, so my friends and I went over to the library early to knock out this Foodservice assignment that required us to read a book on reserve and do some small assignments from the end of the chapter.

Three

Hours

Later……..

I was starving but SO happy to have them finished!!

I didn’t want to pack up all my gear and relocate, so I just stayed in the library to eat.  I know some of Winthrop’s staff reads KERF! Shhhhh! Don’t tell on me!

I packed a delicious smoked salmon + romaine sandwich on GH Honey Wheat Bread.

TJ’s Greek with blackberries + some Optimum Slim

IMG_3937 (800x600)

IMG_3938 (800x600)

And some raw veggies (peppers, broc, cuc) with a few dabs of sriratcha. I was on FI-YA by the end of this – sweating all over and numb! Spicy! :dead2:

IMG_3936 (800x600)

No overview photo because i had to eat them one at a time discreetly!

The African prize made it safe and sound to Erin’s blog: Look what I won. So glad the ring fits Erin!

I am off to Foodservice and then to an appointment with my advisor and them home, where Matt should be preparing some Indian-inspired veggies for dinner. Perhaps I will watch a movie tonight to decompress before I continue my haul of projects this week!?

Lunch looks great and totally well-balanced. I love that about your meals, lunches in particular.

If you have time for some relaxation, I’d say go for it! During crazy weeks, I always take whatever I can get.

I used to sneak food into my school’s library all the time and even drinks. I became a pro at sneaking in my hot chocolate in my bag. Of course now it has permenant hot chocoalte stains all over the inside. 🙂

Well…. As your mother, I am hoping you picked up your crumbs, which I suspect you did.

But what I find interesting is that I just arrived at my school, where I teach English, and was contemplating sneaking a bag of Bugles into the library. (Small, small bag.) I won’t say a word about you sneaking food into your library if you don’t complain about me eating delicious bugles. (The library here is too small to get by with sneaking, btw.)

Now I have ANOTHER thing to try Sriracha on! I mixed it with plain yogurt for a sandwich spread per your suggestion and that was amazing. Over the weekend, I went out to a Greek restaurant, and since Greek food isn’t spicy, my friend was going to sneak in Sriracha…but she forgot 🙂

Speaking of sneaking in, your lunch looks way healthier than any food I snuck into my library in college. I seem to remember a lot of gummy candy and diet coke going on in the those days…had to stay awake somehow!

kath, you’re such a rule-breaker 😉 i’m sure the school will turn a blind eye, though — you’re probably sending admissions apps through the roof!

(also, i’m doing a bob’s red mill giveaway on my blog right now in case you’re interested in entering … and helping me spread the word 🙂 thanks!)

Beadie @ What I Ate Yesterday,
I think it’s about a cup? Maybe 3/4 a cup? I’m not sure! It’s from the grocery store tupperware aisle.

    Hi Kath

    Great blog!

I was just wondering what you thought of wheatgrass juice? Does it really have any rela health benefits or is it just so new hyped drink, soon to be replaced by another one?
    Thanks!

    Sarah,
I went to Wikipedia to check out what they say about wheatgrass. Sounds like it has some vitamins and minerals, but according to a nice chart, you’re better off eating your veggies. If you like the juice, drink it, but I’d rather chew my calories. I wouldn’t add it to your daily intake (sounds expensive) but might be fun smoothie addition?

    Hi Kath,

    Great blog!

I’m interested in starting a blog, but there seems to be several options of blog hosting sites out there. What made you choose WordPress over Blogger? It looks like you used to be on Blogger. Was it easy to transfer over or did you have to start from scratch? Thanks in advance for your input. Keep up the great work!
