Needles

I’m back from a secret appointment (hence the late post) and now have yellow fever, typhoid and hepatitis A floating through my body. AHHHHHHH! I can’t wait to tell you guys the details

this !

I’ve been working nonstop today and have only gotten 2 major and 3 minor things checked off my list! Blah! There is definitely no time for a workout today, although the emerging sunshine makes me want to go play outside.

I worked straight through until 1:30, when I wasn’t even really that hungry but was feeling weak so I knew it was time for lunch. It was amazing how much more energized I felt after eating! It was literally a re-fuel.

For lunch I assembled a quick plate of nibbles –

A delicious Tempeh + Pumpkin Butter Sandwich on GH Flax Oat Bran

Leftover Massaged Kale Salad (get the info from this post)

IMG_2237 (1024x768)

Naturally, I had more peanut butter (on a carrot 😉 )

IMG_2233 (1024x768)

And some more pear

IMG_2232 (1024x768)

IMG_2238 (1024x768)

IMG_2230 (1024x768)

Congrats to my CalorieKing friend Cynthia for giving birth to Katharine Rose early this morning!!!!!

I’ve got plenty more to do today, tomorrow and Saturday to get these nagging projects and papers complete. I’m starting to feel the mid-semester pressure build up

I’m guessing somewhere in Africa, as those are the only (I think) countries that require Yellow Fever. Where ever it is a trip is always exciting!

Well, regardless of the Hep A vax, you’re going to have to lay off your enormous raw salads at your destination.

I’m looking forward to this; as someone who’s lived abroad for several years a few different times, I’ve wondered how you’d deal w/eating outside of carefully controlled home life. Hope you’ll be blogging while you’re away!

So this is weird: I had something really similar for lunch today, so I had to comment! I too love raw massaged kale and have been having it nonstop the past few weeks, so I had that as a salad with olive oil, balsamic, s&p, and a chopped carrot, and also a tempeh, vegenaise, ketchup, mustard sammie. Yay! When tempeh is tender & juicy and cooked just right it makes the best sandwich filler! I know your lunch musta been good because mine was awesome!!

If going to Thailand, think about heading over to Cambodia as well. It is a gorgeous country with tons to explore in terms of ancient temples and nature. Also, the people are friendly and you can’t beat riding around in a tuk tuk all day in the countryside with your driver stopping in places for you to try the local cuisine. Only $1 for a bowl of yummy noodle soup and coffee. You don’t have to have tons of money to enjoy travels.
