Mushy Monday

Getting up was easy today – perhaps because I wasn’t cold? I always seem to get up more quickly when I wake up hot. Matt, however, decided to take today off. He usually goes with me on Mondays to get his body clock back to 4am wake-ups, but today he was sore, so he skipped. I told him he should still wake up for the body clock and was surprised when I got home to find laundry going, the dishwasher empty and a verbal progress report on the finishing touches on our taxes all done before 7am! Go Kanzi!

We’ve got a ton of cereal on hand, so we’re putting that in priority mode again.

IMG_4544 (1024x768)

Today I had Nature’s Path Pumpkin Raisin Crunch (there’s not really much crunch in there 🙁 ) with strawberries, walnuts, vanilla soy milk and a tbsp of PB2. I love the PB2 in cereal! I dissolves like regular PB couldn’t. We were out of bananas so I’m having double strawberries today 🙁

The bad part was that I heated 1 cup of soy milk with the strawberries and it was too much milk and made the cereal all soggy. This was no Optimum Slim 🙁

We don’t have Food Science today, but I’ve still got my other two so I’m hoping to get a lot of studying finished in-between.

Sorry about the soy milk mess, but at least more soy milk = more protein and calcium. Mmmm… I really want some PB2!

great article on gather kath! i am LOVING these!

I think that I would personally add to the list “journal it out”… writing down WHY I am stressed out usually helps relieve it a bit. a good cry too haaha. and i would agree that making a to do list to keep it all organized and out of your head definitely helps!

Kath, I’m looking for a website that you once posted–it allows you to log all your grocery purchases and thus see where your grocery money is going. I can’t find it though, can you repost it?

Mushy cereal is the worst!! Right now, I am really loving the 9 whole grain crunch with flax seed and almonds from Trader Joe’s, it has super crunch!

    Have a great Monday!

Hey Kath! So this morning I also had a dry cereal breakfast. I found an interesting way to make it. It’s a happy medium between dry cereal and oatmeal. It was delicious.

Here’s the link to what I did:

Hey Kath, I’ve been following your site for a while (luv the info and ideas), but this is my first time posting. I see that you’re trying the PB2. I’ve been hooked on the stuff for a while. Just an idea to share with you – What I find really good is mixing some in with TJ’s Greek yogurt. I add a little natural sweetener to the mix ,and I sometimes add granola or All Bran Buds (for a little texture). I’ve also added a small pinch of cocoa powder to it – a rough take on a Reese’s PB cup! Anyway, hope you give is shot. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it. Have a great day!

Can Matt come and teach my fiance how to wisely use free time by cleaning??? “I cook, you clean” is way too difficult in our house!
Thanks for the suggestion about the Fresh Market Spring Blend! I bought some on Friday, and I’ve averaged 2 cups a day since then!!! AMAZING!

Sorry breakfast was mushy! I don’t ALWAYS mind mush but Weetabix gets real mushy, even like 1 minute after you put the milk in!

Really like the article you wrote on stress… I especially love the ‘make time for yourself’ tip.. I find this HELPS leaps and bounds to reduce stress. Yesterday when I went running I kept thinking to myself, “this run is for me”… I enjoyed it so much more when I reminded myself that it was “me” time rather than just “burn calorie time.” You know?

Ugh, I hate mushy cereal. My mom used to make me eat raisin bran when I was little to resolve “issues” and I hated it. So I’d just sit there and not eat it for like 30 minutes, until it was all warm and soggy, and she’d make me take two bites before I could get up. I felt better when I was constipated.

I’m pretty sure this is the first time THAT word has been on your blog. Happy to contribute 😉

Shoot, now I simply must get PB2 to put in my cereal! P.B. flavor with every bite? Yes, please!

I love all fruits, but I totally understand missing a banana at breakfast. It is the best breakfast fruit! So soft, sweet, comforting.

Hope you have a lovely start to the week 🙂

Yeah, it’s much easier to wake up when it’s hot because when it’s cold you don’t want to get out of your snuggly bed!

Yay for using PB2 in cereal!!! I love it! It makes it so thick and creamy.

Sorry about the soggy cereal, I’m not a huge fan of that flavor either. I much prefer the Red Berry and there is a new one Maple Pecan that I’ve had my eye on!

Yay! So glad you like it. It’s my second favorite coffee – the first being Dilworth Coffee’s Butterscotch Toffee!

    Whitney ,
Yes, but we had to wait to see if there were any last minute investment changes!! I hate that they can make you wait like that because you know I am not a procrastinator! I used to want to do my taxes on January 1st and was so mad when I couldn’t.
