Multiplication

Are you surprised? The bunnies multiplied!! And they continue to hop out of the oven!

IMG_8625

All of these are just the special orders we have received!

IMG_8628

But people have been buying them all day. A very cute thing to do is to hollow out a bowl in the bunny’s back and serve a dip – sweet or savory – in the top at a brunch or cocktail party. Lots of customers are planning on doing it.

IMG_8626

I left the action for a while to make it to my regular Pump class. I probably should have skipped it, but I would have missed my friends!

Walking on the track waiting for class to start..

2012-04-06 10.00.20

Back at work [after a run home for a shower!], I plugged myself back into bunnies + bread. Had some almonds + grapes during my transition and then this honkin’ sandwich at 1 O’clock

IMG_8632

Pimento cheese + veggies with steamed turkey. LOVE pimento cheese!

IMG_8631

Having a blast here today – lots of things left to do!!

I just love those bunnies!! That’s such a great idea for the holidays…I wonder if GH Charlotte does it too??

That sandwich looks awesome…I’ve never tried pimento cheese but based on your review of it, I really should get on that!

PS – Your site isn’t gray for me in the center well, but it’s happening to my site on Chrome too! I’m glad I’m not alone there because my site is gray for me. So strange…

Can you only purchase the bread bunnies at your specific bakery? Or are other Great Harvest bakeries in on this delightful idea? I would love to pick one up if they are making them in CO!!!

just been watching your site with all your posts. I just got a fitbit. Have you ever used one? Thoughts? I am just curious to see what from the perspective of a RD in its use. I actually really like it so far. It is not super accurate but sure it probably measures things consistently etc…..

    their website is fitbit.com

I use it conjunction with lose it! app and also the earndit app. Earndit app gets you $$ for your workouts. Its is pretty cool actually.

    Let me know your thoughts.

      Hey Bruce,
I hadn’t heard of that before, but it looks like an activity/metabolism tracker? I would use the information conservatively and not as an excuse to eat more than your hunger cues. Definitely fun to get an idea of your activity though – and a good motivator!

Well that is only part of it. It tracks exercise, sleep (really cool – I can see how many times I woke up could clue me into sleep apnea), and food / water (but you have to log it in, which I am not so fond of), but I do like the encouragement you get.

For instance my first day using it, I saw I was about 200 steps shy of the 10K step goal, so before bed, I went out and walked the dog to the corner and back and hit my goal. Also if you have facebook friends you can track yourself towards their goals too and see them (but I don’t have any….:-()

ALso through the earndit app, there is a challenge from time to time that a lot of people sign up for. I can see how my progress of (points earned on earndit) compares to the leader and if I want to win, have to exercise more….it is kind of addicting. Oh and you get badges on Fitbit (similar to foursquare etc.)

Finally forgot to say that the other thing that makes it great is that you can after a workout or a day or a week look back onto a dashboard online and see what sort of progress or not progress you are making. That probably is the most useful thing.

Random question for you as a Registered Dietician. When they say “Eat five servings of fruits and vegetables each day,” does that mean five servings total, or five servings of fruit _and_ five servings of vegetables? Obviously more is better, but if it’s five of each then I’m going to have to start waking up earlier to fit all that in!!!

Okay, you talk about it often, so I have to ask. What exactly is pimento cheese? I live in NJ and have never heard of it. Is it a southern thing? It looks a little strange, but you seem to love it so much I figure it must taste good!

It’s the best!! It’s shredded cheddar mixed with pimento peppers (mild in spice) and usually mayonnaise or cream cheese. It’s often served on crustless sandwiches at Southern church picnics! However, that’s not how I prefer to eat it 🙂 There are so many different versions. This is a classic Southern spread recipe: http://www.recipe.com/classic-pimento-cheese-spread/

And this is my friend Kelsey’s recipe, which is my favorite homemade one. It’s thicker and uses greek yogurt and not as spreadable but still delish! http://bitesandbowls.com/2009/02/24/black-bean-burger-foreign-fries/
