Mowing At The Top Of My Lungs

Mowing the lawn is so fun with an iPod! I spent the hour and a half it took me to chop down the forrest of a lawn singing Celine Dion, Sesame Street, Freebird, Sarah Borellis, Gwen Stefani and others. Hope the neighbors weren’t offended!

I came in for lunch around 12:30.

I present – a spinach salad, tossed in olive oil, honey and salt, plus leftover grilled veggies, raisins and lemony hummus

Some fresh strawberries

And a delicious Oikos with blueberry preserves and almonds.

IMG_7024 (1024x768)

REAL FOOD….ahhh.

We are still stinky without showers and are going biking to Trader Joe’s (~6 miles away!) before we come home and get ready to start the day

 this !

See y’all for dinner!

    Kath,
Not to rain on your fun singing parade, but be careful with that ipod when mowing! I’m an audiologist, and turning your ipod volume loud enough to hear over your mower can damage your hearing (although I’ll admit I did it myself as a teen…).

Even better, try a reel push mower sometime: http://www.cleanairgardening.com/reelmowers.html. Quiet enough that you can mow at 7:00 on Sunday morning, and environmentally friendly too! They are actually really easy to push and handle. I’m small with little upper-body strength, and I like our reel mower much better than any power mower I’ve ever used!

I loved the house tour by the way – you and your house are too cute. We have really similar taste! My mom gives me quilts and my house is full of them. They’re so beautiful and I love how they make a house a home.

    Kath,

I would like to purchase a Polar heart rate monitor, but am having a hard time deciding which one to buy. Do you still recommend the F4 one, or do you think it would be better to purchase another model like F6, F11, etc? Thanks!

Okay, in the second picture of your salad, the blob of hummus and a piece of pepper look like a swan sitting on top of your salad–check it out. Hummus body/wings with a gently curved neck and head made of the yellow bell pepper. Lovely.

    Becky,
The double noise does worry me a bit, but in a way the headphones block the mower noise and it’s not as loud. I don’t turn up the volume much either. I would LOVE a push mower, but we can’t afford two right now.

    Ange C,
I think it was for the month only 🙁

    LauraECU ,
If you can afford the F6 or F11, I’d upgrade to those. Whenever my F4 dies, I’ll get a fancier one.

    Chelsea ,
    Yay iPhone, BOO period!

    Lisa ,
    LOL.

    Brooke ,
We met during freshman orientation of college, but didn’t start dating for a semester. He had on Duke shorts and I asked him if he was a fan. We were really good friends for a few months first.

    sj ,
Yup. My Google search sent me to the wrong spelling.

    Christina ,
