Morning Gossip

There are few things in life worth losing sleep over, but GOSSIP GIRL is one of them!! I set my alarm for 5:30 so I’d have enough time to watch Monday’s episode with my oatmeal. SO GOOD. I even predicted the unpredictable ending!

Breakfast was awesome – a chocolatey, crunchy, creamy Buddhalicious bowl of oats –

IMG_1513 (640x427)

The Mix

  • 1/4 cup quick oats
  • 2 tbsp 10 Grain Hot Cereal
  • 1/2 banana
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup vanilla hemp milk (which I have determined smells like a wet tea bag)
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • Pinch salt
  • Sprinkle cinnamon
  • Hidden Maranatha Dark Chocolate AB
  • Hidden Naturally Nutty Vanilla Almond Butter
  • Bob’s Red Mill Natural Granola

IMG_1509 (640x427)

IMG_1510 (640x427)

IMG_1512 (640x427)

IMG_1503 (640x427)

The missing piece in the puzzle of life –

IMG_1506 (640x427)

But GROSS – we’re out of organic milk and the hemp milk curdled in my coffee. I still drank it because I hate to waste Spring Blend, but I hate the solids! I think I need to learn to just love coffee black like I learned to love it without sweetener.

I’m late, I’m late!!

How did I not know about the existence of DARK CHOCOLATE almond butter?! I bet that would blow DCD out of the water. Now I can’t wait to get my hands on some! Your oatmeal looks deee-lish =D

Haha that is awesome that you got up early enough to watch Gossip Girl with your delicious looking bowl of oats!! And curdled hemp milk! ick! I wonder if soy would curdle… I taught myself to like black coffee so I don’t use anything in it now if it’s decent coffee. Sometimes I add milk if the coffee on its own doesn’t taste that good.

I knew that ending was coming, and to be honest, it was disappointing for me — it’s just too much hugely unrealistic drama that I don’t care about (give me Nate and Jenny! Give me Chuck and Blair! Keep the Ruf and whatshername mother out of it!).
I will watch it just the same because I’m obsessed.

I can not believe that I haven’t watched more than the first episode this season, but the bf doesn’t have cable (and care to). I should just watch it on my computer if possible…you are making me jealous! The oats look delicious as usual lady! have a nice wednesday!

    Hey Kath,
I’ve been enjoying your blog for a while, and am (finally) commenting. I also used to put milk and splenda in my coffee, but now drink it straight black. The thing that helped me the most was making it weaker in the beginning–made the black stuff go down much more easily. Just used less coffee/more water.

We just started buying local milk (from Ohio, but still within 100 miles apparently) and it tastes SO much better than any conventional milk I’ve ever had. I don’t know if it’s because the cows are grass-fed or what, but the milk tastes naturally sweet. It’s amazing!

I was just wondering – what happens when you really are late and don’t have time to post? Would you rather be late and post on time or would you rather skip that post? Sometimes unexpected things do come up, and especially with blogging I was just wondering how unexpected obstacles affect your blogging schedule? Thanks!

Some things, like your favorite TV show, are totally worth getting up early for. Funny I seem to have much more trouble getting in a morning workout!

I’ve had the same problem with almond milk and I’ve just accepted that I’ll need soy or regular milk if I’m not going to have my coffee black.

I find that as long as the coffee is GOOD (and preferably fair trade and organic) , then it is actually pretty enjoyable to drink it black. It seems like you drink good coffee, so maybe you would like your coffee black?

I’m so weird about TV shows. I like to wait until the WHOLE season has finished, then buy the DVDS or get them from netflix… and watch the shows in marathon sessions. I am super excited about this season of Gossip Girl though. I love that show!!! I read that Chace Crawford backed out of doing the remake of Footloose… not sure who will take his spot. I’m kinda glad, though… I like thinking of him as Nate… not a musical kinda guy… πŸ™‚

I’ve read that adding a pinch of baking soda to your non-dairy milk before adding it to the coffee will prevent curdling. Might be worth a try? If you do try it, let us know if it works or not!

  50. elaine! says

Or maybe you were supposed to add it to the coffee first. Curdling is caused by acidity, so baking soda would offset the acidity of the coffee. I think.
