Logistics

Today required quite the logistical planning. We drove to the bakery and first, made sandwiches

IMG_0193Blog

Then drove to the radio station for our meeting (and sandwich tasting!)

Then I dropped Matt off at the bakery and went to Body Pump (awesomeness. I really miss it if I only make it to one class a week! 2 is best for me. 3 would be too much. My arms are still shaking!)

Then I drove home, cleaned the bathroom, showered, made lunch, blogged and am driving back over now to pick Matt up. We have a call and then he has a hair cut, leaving me there with no car. And then we’ll drive home together tonight.

About that bathroom cleaning. GAH! Our shower was so gross I just HAD to “waste” 30 minutes cleaning it. I used the Shaklee Basic H spray with a hard bristled skinny brush and then the Nature Bright on the floor. I got most of the grossness out – sans the icky black mildew that is UNDER our sealed grout and will never, ever come up!

A NORMAL KERF LUNCH!!!

IMG_0198Blog

I did get a little sick of sandwiches, but I don’t plan on eating them everyday like I did this week. Once or twice a week max is probably a better number to keep the variety up.

Salads are my favorite lunch! (And we do hope to add salads to our bakery menu in time!)

IMG_0205Blog

I took mixed greens dressed in olive oil and honey and added leftover beans + local herby goat cheese. Plus a slice of cooked bacon and carrots + green peppers. And those amazing giant seedy raisins! I have to figure out what they are called.

This was delicious!!

I’ve been listening to the Glee version of “For Good” on repeat for an hour. LOVEEEE this version!

Great Harvest Press in The Hook!! [We’re in the print version too!]

And check out this awesome Bread Art Project!

    Bread art project….Very COOL!

“mixed greens dressed in olive oil and honey and added leftover beans”—EVOO and honey sounds excellent on a salad!

And congrats on your Hook feature…you’re famous (even more so!) !

And the first pic with those PERFECT drizzles on the bread…I need you or your helpers as my food stylists. Perfection! 🙂

    hey kath!
    saladlooks delish indeed!
about those grapes….. they are locally known over here in south africa as ‘Hanepoot’ grapes/raisins – they are the biggest of all the cultivars and is used to make the more sweeter dessert wines – which is called Hanepoot too and also used in Port blends – they are awesome in muffins;apple pies/cobblers and fruitcake too! i make my own grape jam with them and the best part is they are so sweet so there is no need to add sugar, also splash a few into your next curry your rustle up – a.m.az.iiiiing! especially if it is a hot curry.

it is a key ingredient in the cape malay curry here and goes well with diced/sliced banana on top thattakes the place of regular sambles – sweetness and curry flavours really marry together beautifully 🙂

Which Basic H solution do you use for the bathroom? I find myself using the degreaser formula for just about everything! I have the all-purpose solution but generally go for the degreaser anyway, unless I’m just wiping up crumbs or something. Just wondered which you like to use. 🙂

    Hi Kath!

Are your “giant seedy raisins” a little bit tart? If so they could be golden berries (aka incan berries). They are chewy and seedy, a little bit sweet, a little bit tart :). I can’t see them too clearly in your picture otherwise I could for sure tell you what they are!
